Most of my "work problems" have answers on SO, but this time I need the DEV community to help.
I joined a start-up as CTO a few months ago. It's been exciting, and scary, and a great learning experience. Business is taking off, but we're committed to staying as lean as possible and to avoid hiring until we absolutely have to. We're still working day jobs, though with sales growing 50% per month it's hard to keep up.
We're trying to automate things whenever possible, and our tight constraints are forcing really creative solutions out of us. We have solid reporting and analytics and try to make every decision based on the data. I'm faced with challenges in everything from UX to scaling the app, and we're constantly balancing building new features with iterating on old ones.
And honestly, most of the time my decisions are just guesses. So my question is whether I'll ever feel like I know wtf I'm doing, and does impostor syndrome ever go away? I'd love to hear from entrepreneurs and founders what it was like for you getting started.
