The speakers will be here for a live Q&A for at least 30 minutes immediately after their session concludes. After the event, come back to find additional slides, videos, and resources for this session.

About This Session:

July 15, 2020: 11:00 PDT - 11:25 PDT

One of the most POWERful ways you can enhance the already rich native functionality of the Power Platform is with Custom Connectors. In this session, you’ll learn what custom connectors are and how to create one from scratch to get your business data into Power Apps and Power Automate.

About the Speakers:

April Dunnam is a Technical Architect @ Microsoft and a Microsoft Business Apps MVP alumni. Follow @aprildunnam on Twitter.

Hey April, Thank you for such an Awesome Informative session. I had a query regarding wanted to understand any short of limitation with custom connectors.. in terms of... size/no of data we can get..no of calls in a minute or seconds.. or any other short of limitation or upper limit which we should know?

Hi Pawan,
Yes there are some limits to the number of requests per minute for connectors in general (500 requests for each connection). There are also some limitations with operations through the gateway. You can find more info on this here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connector...

April,
Once creating a custom connector and using in PowerApps, and then going back and editing, like adding a new action, do you need to remove it form PowerApps and add again for PowerApps to see the changes? Similar to what you have to do with a Flow that has changed?

Hi Michael,

Most of the time to get the changes I do find myself having to remove and re-add the connector.

Great question - it can't come soon enough in my opinion! It didn't make it in the latest release wave for Power Plat so I'm guessing it will be at least another year (just a guess though)

April, how has your experience been going from an MVP to a Tech Architect at Microsoft?

It's been a great! I love getting to help our partner ecosystem skill up and discover the power of the power platform. And I still get to be very hands on and involved in the community so it's the best of both worlds!
