re: Why DEV hosts on Heroku (and how we configure our service) VIEW POST

The biggest problem, as a student, that I've found with Heroku, is the pricing.

It is a fair pricing, considering the quality of their services, but for a service I'm hosting (paste), I'd really like to host it on a managed infrastructure since it's a very small service (15MB binary, 60MB~ RAM usage during peaks, and at maximum 20-30MB of Redis RAM storage, without persistence), even the Hobby dyno gives too much for this need.

If you're a student I encourage you to look into their educational discounts. They're quite generous.
