Kerberos Server / Client on Windows

・1 min read

I'm trying to get a Kerberos server up and running on Windows with a Kerberos client on the same machine. I don't want to use Active Directory mapping because this system should be flexible enough to become heterogeneous (Linux and Windows and macOS machines) in the future, and still work as the Kerberos server for all those machines.

I'm doing this in order to have user authentication tied to a Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) spread across networked machines.

Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I've been struggling for the better part of a day now. Thanks for any help!

What’s a concept you understand now, but took you forever to grasp?

I’m sure we all have plenty of answers to this one, but sometimes we forget how...
