Making your first contribution on Github to an open source project can be VERY daunting. Outside of my full time job as a software engineer, I also teach code and love creating fun, quirky projects that will help others learn.
Thus, EmojiScreen was born!
EmojiScreen is a listing of TV shows, movies and musicals depicted with emojis. Eventually, a 'game mode' will be added where you can try to guess what movie or show the emojis are based on.
I created this project for people to have a fun and judgement free space to practice contributing on Github so even if you are super new at it, please don't hesitate to participate. Also what you add will be live on a website. 🎉
The easiest way to contribute is to add a TV show 📺, movie 📽️ or musical 🎵 to the website. The image below is an example of what you would be adding.
Again, this is a great project for beginners to contribute to. The README includes very detailed instructions.
For more advanced ways to contribute, there are a number of Issues that I have created for new features and solutions I plan on adding. Feel free to grab one!

This project was built to create a fun, judgement free space for those learning Git and Github to practice making pull requests, branches, adding features, and more.

Below are instructions for how to contribute to this project. The easiest way to make a contribution is to add a
Emoji Card to the website (you can add multiple shows or movies). Each card should be added in the
data.json file as an object. For more advanced ways to contribute, see the repo Issues.
Read below for a detailed overview and walkthrough on how to add an
Emoji Card to this project. First time pull-requests are encouraged. If you run into trouble, feel free to create an Issue!
Note for movies or shows with multiple versions: For example…
