On January 1st, 2020, Adam and I are launching Candidate Planet! We’ll be sharing tips and scripts for candidates, everything from talking with recruiters, to acing interviews, and negotiating offers. Our advice is a mix of general tech company advice, as well as specifics for engineers and tech-adjacent roles.
We’re starting with Youtube videos, and plan to share this content as a podcast, blog and newsletter, too. We want everyone to benefit from what we’ve been learning.
We've started recording already and I can't wait to share these fun advice videos with all of you. I’m hoping y’all will send us feedback, as well as more candidate questions for us to answer.
We have a couple short promo videos coming out this month, but the core content won’t get started until January 1st. Please subscribe so you're ready to go with the New Year.
I’m feeling excited. I love performing and I love the creative work of brainstorming and producing videos and podcasts. I’m looking forward to building a community of candidates who will give us feedback, ask questions and cheer each other on.
This is also a totally new venture for Adam and I, and I’m anticipating some vulnerability. Will we be entertaining enough? Will anyone want to follow us?
I don’t doubt we’ll get there in the end, but there will be some incremental steps along the way. I rather like the nostalgia of looking back on one’s journey, but it can feel daunting while it's happening. One of my Candidate Planet goals is to build a compassionate audience so we can make mistakes and learn together... especially for the first few months!
