Charity Majors@mipsytipsyI'll never forget the day I found out that C-levels prioritize vendor relationships because engineers come and go, but vendors are your friends forever.
This is so short sighted. You are all hiring engineers away from each other. You have a vested interest in investing in them22:57 PM - 08 Nov 2018
I don't know what the lesson is here other than programmers collectively do themselves a disservice by being disorganized. Vendors are basically programmer collectives that enterprises buy. It would be better to cut out the middle person entirely because vendors only understand the language of organizations and consider individual programmers a risk that requires mitigation. It would be fun to see enterprises try to mitigate the risk of ubiquitous programmer collectives managed by programmers instead of C-level executives.
Speaking of collectives. I'm happy to help out anyone here with any cloud/infrastructure related matters for free so don't hesitate to reach out.
