I like your approach and eagerness to learn HTML/CSS. I learned everything I've ever needed in HTML/CSS from actually working on my own projects. I have my own websites. There was no courses for me. If I needed an image absolutely positioned in the footer off the right side 10px. I looked up how and learned. I learned how to do everything I needed quickly. I moved from Wordpress using plain HTML, CSS and PHP then to Vue.js and finally to Nuxt.js. Using Nuxt I started using Pug for HTML and SCSS for my CSS and Typescript for Javascript. I now have all 3 languages in 1 Vue file with SSR enabled, ranking my sites on Google, while my sites are hosted for free on Netlify thanks to Nuxt. In the end I chose Vuetify which is a front end framework that follows Google's material design concepts. I instantly fell in love with the ease of use but also the complexity. You can surprisingly do a lot with a framework. Moral of the story for me is I didn't have to learn everything about HTML/CSS in order to have an amazing website made by myself. I know how to customize it down to the bone still and I can change themes in seconds.
