Discussion on: It's not your job!

Yeah I thought so for a while until I realized that no matter how good the code is I’m still fighting a losing battle on the technical side and not finding fulfillment in what I do at work and probably never will.

Point in case the project I’ve basically been soloing for a year is doing great and I’ve gotten tons of praise for “the good work” I do, but ultimately though it’s still not the developer’s dream job and I’m still not getting the exposure that I’d have wanted to have.

Anyway, tiny rant aside, sadly a company isn’t exactly responsible for keeping you sharp, that’s your own responsibility sad as it may sound which is why I always have personal side projects etc.
