Congratulations on your fist post! It was a really nice article, easy to follow and read through!

I have a question. How would you constrain yourself while using a laptop at home in order to build good habits? These days I'm studying and working a lot from home and while I'm using my laptop, I'm in full control of how I spend my time which sometimes means that I waste a bit too much for my liking. I'd like to change that but I'm not aware of any apps or programs to use (other than Windows 10 Focus Assist) to help with this.

Thanks in advance for the answer! I'm also a lover of self improvement and this article was really my cup of tea.

Hey! Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it! :)

Sometime ago I read about a research, I think it was from Harvard, saying that studying/working in the same place that you use to sleep or for your leisure is in itself a very bad detriment to productivity and focus. So, at least me, I try to never work from the desk I have in my room or even from my bed. Maybe a studio room would already sound better, but being a student living in a student place I do not have that pleasure yet :)

When it comes to staying focused in general, I have found that simply focusing on the task by removing any possible external distraction is enough, in my case. I also did not like reading/studying with music, but then I learnt to do that and with the right playlists I can isolate quite much from the outside environment. And of course, I do not work from cafes or other places where there are a lot of people coming and going.

So, what I can say from my very little experience, is that finding good non-distracting music (like movies soundtracks for instance, since they are designed to not interfere with the attention while watching a movie), mute everything that might interfere with the process and, of course, enjoying the task you are performing are very good ways to start being productive in any environment, no matter where that is :)
