This is a submission for Weekend Challenge:
Dog Days Edition
🐾 Dog Days Tracker — Because Every Good Day Deserves to Be Remembered

«What if your dog's happiest moments could become a story? 🐶❤️»

For the DEV Weekend Challenge: Dog Days Edition, I built a small but meaningful web app to turn everyday puppy care into something you can actually track, revisit, and enjoy.

🐾 Meet Dog Days Tracker — a cute, mobile-friendly dog activity journal built entirely with HTML + CSS + JavaScript.

And the best part?

I built it using only an Android phone. 📱

🎬 See Dog Days Tracker In Action 🐾

🐶✨ Meet Dog Days Tracker

"🚀 Try the Live Demo" (https://05unique-dotcom.github.io/dog-days-tracker/dog-days.html)

"💻 Explore the GitHub Repository" (https://github.com/05unique-dotcom/dog-days-tracker)

❤️ The Problem

Taking care of a dog involves dozens of tiny moments:

🐕 A morning walk
🍖 Mealtime
🎾 Playtime
💧 Water breaks
🛁 Grooming
😴 Nap time
😊 And, of course, their mood

But those little moments are easy to forget.

So I asked:

«Why not make a simple digital diary for them?»

That idea became Dog Days Tracker.

🐾 What I Built

Dog Days Tracker lets you create a profile for your pup and record what happened during their day.

🐶 1. Personal Dog Profile

Give your pup their own identity:

🐶 Choose an avatar

✏️ Enter their name

🎂 Add their age

🐕 Add their breed

It's a tiny detail, but it makes the app feel like your dog's app, not just another tracker.

😊 2. Daily Mood Tracking

How is your pup feeling today?

😄 Happy
🤩 Excited
😌 Calm
😴 Tired
🤒 Sick

Instead of reducing a day to numbers, the app also captures the emotion behind the day.

🐕 3. Six Daily Activities

Track the things that matter:

Activity| What it tracks
🦮 Walks| Daily walks
🍖 Meals| Meals
🎾 Play Time| Play sessions
💧 Water Breaks| Hydration moments
🛁 Grooming| Grooming sessions
😴 Nap Time| Rest

Each activity has a simple + / − counter, keeping the experience fast enough to use every day.

📝 4. Daily Notes

Numbers don't tell the whole story.

That's why Dog Days Tracker also includes Today's Notes.

You can capture the little things:

«"Bruno discovered his new favorite toy today." 🧸🐶»

Or:

«"Went on a long evening walk." 🌅🐕»

Those memories can become just as valuable as the statistics.

📊 5. Stats & History

This is where the daily logs become useful.

The app provides:

📅 Days Tracked

🦮 Total Walks

🍖 Total Meals

🎾 Total Play Times

🔥 Best Streak

😊 Top Mood

📖 Past Days

😊 Mood History

Instead of asking "What did we do last week?", you can actually look back.

🔥 6. Streak Tracking

Consistency deserves a little celebration.

The app keeps track of your tracking streak so that taking care of your pup can become a small daily habit.

Day 1 → Day 2 → Day 3 → 🔥

It's a tiny bit of gamification, but it makes opening the app again tomorrow more rewarding.

💾 7. No Account. No Backend. No Problem.

One of my favorite parts of this project is its simplicity.

Your data is stored locally in the browser using Local Storage.

That means:

🚫 No backend

🚫 No database

🚫 No login

🚫 No complicated setup

Just open the app and start tracking.

🧠 Under the Hood

The entire application is built with:

HTML
↓
Structure & UI

CSS
↓
Responsive design & animations

JavaScript
↓
State management
↓
Activity tracking
↓
Mood tracking
↓
Stats
↓
History
↓
Local Storage

No framework.

No build system.

No giant dependency tree.

Just Vanilla HTML + CSS + JavaScript.

💻 A Peek at the Code

The app revolves around a simple state-driven approach.

For example, an activity can be updated with JavaScript:

function updateActivity(activity, change) {
const current = today.activities[activity] || 0;

today.activities[activity] =
Math.max(0, current + change);

saveData();
renderToday();
updateStats();
}

The idea is simple:

Change the data → save it → update the interface.

That's one of the things I enjoyed most while building this project: seeing a small amount of JavaScript turn simple buttons into a persistent daily tracker.

🖼️ Project Preview

"Dog Days Tracker — Dog Profile" (https://05unique-dotcom.github.io/dog-days-tracker/)

🐶 Creating a personalized pup profile

"Dog Days Tracker — Daily Tracker"

📊 Tracking mood and daily activities

"Dog Days Tracker — Statistics"

📈 Turning daily logs into useful statistics

"Dog Days Tracker — History"

📖 Looking back at previous days

🌟 What Makes It Different?

I didn't want to build another dashboard filled with numbers.

I wanted something that felt:

🐾 Personal
❤️ Friendly
📱 Simple
🎮 Slightly playful
📊 Actually useful

The goal was to make tracking feel less like filling out a spreadsheet...

…and more like keeping a diary for your best friend.

🧩 Design Philosophy

The interface intentionally keeps the interaction simple.

👆 Tap instead of type

Most daily actions are just a tap away.

🧠 Remember instead of repeat

Local Storage means your existing data stays available in the browser.

📊 Simple stats instead of complicated analytics

You don't need a data science degree to understand your dog's week.

❤️ Personality over complexity

The emojis, avatars, moods and paw-themed UI are there to make the experience feel alive.

🚀 Ideas I Would Add Next

The current version focuses on the core tracking experience, but there are plenty of directions this could grow.

🩺 Care Reminders

Vaccination, grooming and vet reminders.

📸 Memory Gallery

Attach photos to individual days.

📈 Weekly Insights

Something like:

«"Your pup had their most active week yet! 🐾"»

🏆 Achievement System

Unlock badges such as:

🏅 First Walk
🔥 7-Day Tracker
🎾 Playtime Pro
💧 Hydration Hero
❤️ Happy Pup Week

🐕 Multiple Profiles

Perfect for households with more than one dog.

📤 Export & Backup

Export the tracking history as JSON or CSV.

🌙 Dark Mode

Because even dogs deserve a night mode. 🌙🐶

📱 Built on Android

This project has a special meaning for me.

I didn't build it on a laptop.

I didn't have a fancy development setup.

I built it on an Android phone. 📱

That forced me to keep the project lightweight, simple and focused.

And honestly?

That constraint became part of the challenge.

«You don't always need powerful hardware to build something meaningful.»

Sometimes you just need an idea, a browser, and the willingness to keep building.

🛠️ Tech Stack

Frontend

HTML5

CSS3

Vanilla JavaScript

Storage

Browser Local Storage

Deployment

GitHub Pages

Development

Android phone 📱

No frameworks. No backend. No database.

Just a small web app built from scratch.

🔗 Try It Yourself

🧩 DEV/GitHub Embed

You can also showcase the repository directly in the DEV post:

        05unique-dotcom
       /
        dog-days-tracker

🐾 A cute & functional dog activity tracker — log your pup's mood, walks, meals & playtime daily. Built with vanilla HTML, CSS & JS. DEV Weekend Challenge: Dog Days Edition submission 🏆

DEV supports GitHub repository embeds through its Markdown/Liquid embed system.

🐾 Final Thought

A dog can't tell us:

«"I had a great day."»

But maybe we can build something that helps us remember why.

That's what Dog Days Tracker is about.

Not complicated technology.

Not huge amounts of code.

Just a tiny app built around a simple idea:

❤️ Make every dog day count. 🐾

🙌 I'd Love Your Feedback

If you try it, tell me:

🐶 What would you add?
📊 What statistic would you want?
🏆 What achievement should exist?
📸 Would you use a memory/photo feature?

And if you like the project, a ❤️ reaction or comment would mean a lot!

🏆 Built for the DEV Weekend Challenge: Dog Days Edition

This is a submission for the DEV Frontend
Challenge: Comfort Food Edition.

  🍵 The Inspiration

Growing up in Maharashtra, street food isn't
just food — it's a feeling. The smell of cutting
chai in the morning, the crunch of a fresh samosa,
the satisfaction of vada pav after a long day.

I wanted to capture that warmth in a website.

  🏗️ What I Built

Chai & Chill — A cozy Mumbai-inspired Indian
street food landing page that feels like home.

🔗 Live Site: https://chai-and-chill-vibes.lovable.app
💻 GitHub: https://github.com/05unique-dotcom/chai-and-chill-vibes

  🎬 Meet the Gang!

Chai, Samosa, Vada Pav aur Poha — sab mil ke
welcome karte hain Mumbai street food ki duniya mein! ☕🥟🍔🍛

  ✨ Features

🏠 Hero section with real chai background &
floating cup animations

🛒 Working cart — live counter + toast notifications

🍽️ 6 menu items with real food photos & ₹ prices:
Cutting Chai, Vada Pav, Samosa, Poha,
Misal Pav, Idli Chutney

🔥 Special offer banner with animation

📖 "From Mumbai Streets to Your Heart" story

📞 Contact section with Mumbai address

📱 Fully mobile responsive

  🛠️ Tech Stack

React + TypeScript

Tailwind CSS

Lovable AI (AI-assisted development)

Built entirely on Android 📱 — no laptop!

  🚀 My Journey

I'm Arshad — an 18-year-old self-taught developer
from Kudal, Maharashtra. I have no laptop.

Every single line of code, every bug fix, every
deployment — done entirely on my Android phone.

I choose Indian street food because it's not just
a theme for me — it's my culture, my comfort,
my home. 🇮🇳

When I see "comfort food" I don't think pizza.
I think cutting chai on a rainy Mumbai morning.

That's what Chai & Chill is — comfort,
coded from the heart. ☕

  🎨 Design Decisions

Warm orange/brown palette — evokes the
color of chai and spices

Real food photography — makes it feel
authentic and appetizing

Mumbai street address — grounds it in
real Indian culture

₹ pricing — not $, not €, but ₹ —
proudly Indian 🇮🇳

A Developer With No Laptop — Just a Phone and a Dream

I'm Arshad, a self-taught 18-year-old developer from Kudal, Maharashtra, India.
I have no laptop. Every single line of code, every bug fix, every deployment —
done entirely on Android. No excuses, just solutions.

Here are two real bug stories from my projects.

🐍 Project 1: Python Learner App

Live: https://python-learner--arshadansari786.replit.app/
GitHub: https://github.com/05unique-dotcom/python-learner-app

  What is it?

A web-based Python learning platform for absolute beginners —
built with React, TypeScript, and Vite on Replit using AI assistance.

  The Bugs 🐛

Bug #1 — Certificate Given Without Course Completion

The biggest embarrassment: users were receiving completion certificates
without finishing the course. The certificate logic wasn't checking
lesson completion status at all.

Fix: I identified that the certificate trigger had no validation gate.
After prompting the AI to add a completion check — the certificate now
only unlocks after every lesson is marked complete. Earned, not gifted.

Bug #2 — Dashboard Showing Lessons as Incomplete After Finishing

Even after a user finished a lesson, the dashboard still showed it as
incomplete. Progress tracking was broken.

Fix: The lesson state wasn't being saved properly to the database.
After debugging the state management logic, lessons now correctly
update and persist as "completed."

Bug #3 — Leaderboard Not Working

The leaderboard showed no data — it was completely non-functional.

Fix: The leaderboard data fetching logic had an error in how scores
were being read. After fixing the query, the leaderboard now displays
real user rankings properly.

🏎️ Project 2: Nitro Rush Revamped

Live: https://nitro-rush-revamped.lovable.app

GitHub: https://github.com/05unique-dotcom/nitro-rush-revamped

  What is it?

A 3D browser racing game built with Three.js and WebGL —
playable directly in your mobile browser. No install needed.

  The Bugs 🐛

Bug #1 — Only One Vehicle Available

Originally, players could only race with one car. No variety,
no choice, no fun.

Fix: Using AI-assisted prompting on Lovable, I expanded the
vehicle garage to include: Sports Car, Superbike, Rickshaw,
City Bus, Truck, and Hauler. Six vehicles. Each with a different feel.

Bug #2 — No Brakes! Vehicle Speed Couldn't Be Reduced

This was game-breaking. Players had Nitro boost and a joystick —
but zero braking ability. Once you speed up, you couldn't slow down.
Players kept crashing and losing. Unplayable at higher speeds.

Fix: I wrote a detailed prompt using ChatGPT first, then pasted it
into Lovable. It implemented a brake mechanic that gradually reduces
vehicle acceleration — giving players real speed control for the first time.

Bug #3 — Static, Repetitive Track

The same road environment repeated endlessly. No progression, no excitement.

Fix: Every 1000 meters, a new and different street environment
now loads — keeping the race feeling fresh and adventurous.

  What I Learned

These weren't just code bugs — they were experience bugs.
A certificate that anyone could get meant nothing.
A racing game with no brakes wasn't a game at all.

Fixing bugs isn't just about making code work.
It's about making the experience work.

And yes — I did all of this on a phone. 📱

If you're a beginner reading this: your constraints don't define your limits.

Hey developers! 👋
I'm Arshad, a self-taught developer from Maharashtra, India. I just completed 12th grade and I've built two live projects — entirely on mobile using Replit, Lovable, and AI tools. No laptop. No desktop. Just a phone and determination.
📱 Project 1: Python Learner App
My very first project — a complete Python learning platform for absolute beginners.
🔗 Live: https://python-learner--arshadansari786.replit.app/
⭐ GitHub: https://github.com/05unique-dotcom/python-learner-app
Features:
Step-by-step Python courses from basics
Dashboard, XP points & badges
Leaderboard & rewards system
Quick challenges & lessons
Certificates & video support
🎮 Project 2: Nitro Rush Revamped
A 3D browser racing game built with Three.js & WebGL!
🔗 Live: https://nitro-rush-revamped.lovable.app
⭐ GitHub: https://github.com/05unique-dotcom/nitro-rush-revamped
Features:
Garage, missions & leaderboard
Joystick controls 🕹️
Multiple vehicles — sports car, superbike, rickshaw, city bus, truck/hauler!
New street every 1000m
End-game dashboard with speed & overtake stats
💪 The Mobile-Only Challenge
Everything built on Android using Replit, Lovable, Spck Editor and GitHub Mobile. AI helped, but every feature and decision — done on a phone screen.
⭐ Support means everything!
I'm an 18-year-old developer entering engineering college. Your star on my repos is my motivation to keep building.I promise, I can add newly features in my project which may happens you to become more impressive. Thank you my all dear friends, seniors, juniors and followers! 🙏

How I Built a React App Using Only My Android Phone (No Laptop!)

Everyone assumes you need a laptop to code. I don't have one. I built a full React app using only my Android phone — and deployed it live on the internet.

Here's exactly how I did it.

  👋 Who am I?

I'm Arshad Ansari, an 18-year-old aspiring software engineer from a small village in Maharashtra, India. I scored 98.46 percentile in MHT-CET 2026. I have no laptop, no PC — just an Android phone and a strong desire to learn.

🛠️ Tools I Used (All Free, All Mobile)

Spck Code Editor — for writing HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React

Replit — for running and deploying the React app

GitHub — for version control

Chrome browser — for everything else

  🚀 What I Built

I built Python Learner App — an interactive platform where beginners can learn Python through lessons, quizzes, badges and certificates.

  💡 What I Learned

Building on mobile teaches you patience and problem-solving. When things break, you can't just Google easily — you have to think harder.

If you're also learning to code without a laptop — you are not alone. Keep going. 🙌
