Hello! My name is Guilherme Duarte, a software engineer based in Brazil - Florianópolis, working with cloud infrastructure, fintech systems, and scalable backend applications.

I currently work as a Software Engineer at Mercado Livre, one of the largest technology companies in Latin America.

I’m also an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, with a strong focus on cloud architecture, security, and operational efficiency.

My Main Areas of Work

Most of my work revolves around building reliable systems for financial products and digital platforms.

Some of the products and systems I’ve worked on include:

POS payment terminals
Payment gateways and payment links
Business digital bank accounts (PJ)
Receivables anticipation systems (FIDC / factoring)
Banking APIs and integrations with payment networks

These environments require high availability, security, and scalability, which makes backend architecture and cloud infrastructure critical.

What I Like Building

I enjoy working on systems that involve:

Financial infrastructure
Distributed systems
API integrations
Cloud-native applications
High-volume transaction systems

These types of problems combine software engineering, architecture, and business logic, which I find extremely interesting.

Background

Before working in fintech and large-scale systems, I also worked on custom software development and freelance projects, delivering web applications, APIs, and integrations for startups and companies.

I have also been involved in innovation and research initiatives, including the IDEANDO project, which promotes open innovation and collaboration between academia and industry.
