VIDURA: Building an Incident Response Agent That Learns From Every Post-Mortem

An incident response agent is only useful if it can do more than recognize symptoms. VIDURA is built around a simple idea: the investigation should get better because the system remembers what happened last time.

It uses Hindsight as its persistent memory layer. It recalls relevant past incidents before reasoning about a new one, uses them to shape the investigation plan, and retains the post-mortem afterward so the next incident has more context than the last.

The learning loop: recall experience, test it against current evidence, investigate, verify, resolve, and retain the new experience.

 The Series

Part 1: Hindsight as the Persistent Memory Layer in VIDURA

How the recall and retain operations form the read and write paths into a dedicated incident-memory bank.

Read Part 1

Part 2: Memory-Augmented Reasoning: Making Recall Change the Diagnosis

How recalled experience shapes the LLM's plan, and why the system compares past incidents instead of copying their fixes.

Read Part 2

Part 3: The Investigation Backend and the Post-Mortem as a Write Path

Why failed actions are stored as first-class data, and how a resolved incident becomes durable memory.

Read Part 3

Part 4: The Operator Experience: Human-in-the-Loop, Made Visible

The interface that keeps the operator in control, and the multi-incident demo that shows the learning loop working.

Read Part 4

 The Takeaway

Similar symptoms are not similar root causes. VIDURA doesn't just remember what happened. It changes the starting point of the next investigation, while still requiring the current system to prove what is actually happening.
