What I Built

Dogs are expensive. But they also create an entire economy around them.

Dogen starts with something simple: upload a photo of your dog.

Google AI builds a profile from it, including breed, size, energy level, and care needs. Dogen then uses that profile to estimate what it takes to care for the dog for a year: food, vet care, grooming, and training.

But the idea does not stop at the cost of owning a dog.

Dogs create demand for an entire ecosystem of businesses, from mobile groomers and daycares to trainers. Dogen lets you explore those businesses and see where funding could go.

You can fund your own dog's care or back a dog business. Either way, the selected opportunity can be tokenized through Brickken's sandbox on Sepolia, with the transaction sent on-chain and verifiable through a public block explorer.

The goal is simple: make the economy around dogs visible, then make it possible to interact with it.

Whether you're funding your dog's needs or backing a business in the dog economy, Dogen takes that opportunity and tokenizes it through Brickken's sandbox on Ethereum Sepolia.

And this isn't just a tokenization screen pretending something happened in the background. The transaction is actually prepared, signed, sent, and confirmed on-chain, and you can verify the result yourself.

Dogen is basically asking: what if we could see and participate in the economy our dogs create?

How I Built It

Dogen is built with Next.js, with API routes handling external calls so API keys stay server-side.

Google AI

When a dog photo is uploaded, it is sent to Gemini, which returns a structured profile containing the dog's breed, size, energy level, and care needs.

That profile isn't just displayed on screen. It drives the experience that follows, including the estimated yearly care costs.

I also built the AI route to fall back through available models if one isn't available, so the dog profiling feature doesn't depend on a single model name.

ElevenLabs

Once the dog has a profile, Dogen can generate a short line based on that profile and turn it into audio.

So the dog doesn't just have a profile.

It gets a voice too.

Brickken

This is where the project goes from an idea to an actual on-chain implementation.

When a user clicks Tokenize with Brickken, Dogen runs the full Brickken sandbox flow:

prepare → sign → send → confirm

The transaction is signed locally with ethers using a Brickken-whitelisted wallet, sent to Brickken for broadcasting, and then polled until it confirms.

Each dog and backer gets a freshly generated letters-only token symbol, preventing different tokenization flows from colliding on the same symbol.

The result is a real tokenization transaction on Ethereum Sepolia that can be independently verified.
