My New Portfolio.

𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱’𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺:
“𝗔 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.”

While working on my portfolio, I realized that a normal static website filled with sections and paragraphs didn’t really describe me. I asked myself: what if I added motion? But motion alone would only make it feel smooth.

So I decided to build something different—something visitors would never forget.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮:
I have always been fascinated by space, the universe, and how everything works together in harmony. Every planet has its own unique characteristics, and that is what constantly amazes me.

The planets in my portfolio are some of the most fascinating worlds discovered so far:

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘀:

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟮-𝟭𝟴 — A red supergiant among the largest known stars, reminding us how small we are in this universe.

𝗛𝗗 𝟭𝟴𝟵𝟳𝟯𝟯 𝗯 — A world where winds may carry molten glass through its atmosphere.

𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 — My favorite planet, famous for its beautiful rings and its enormous family of moons.

𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗣-𝟳𝟲 𝗯 — Its dayside reaches around 2,400°C, hot enough to vaporize iron.

𝟱𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗶 𝗲 — A year lasts only about 17.7 hours. An entire year in less than a day.

𝗧𝗿𝗘𝗦-𝟮𝗯 — One of the darkest known exoplanets, reflecting less than 1% of incoming light.

𝗞𝗘𝗟𝗧-𝟵𝗯 — With temperatures around 4,300 K, its atmosphere contains vaporized iron and titanium.

𝗞𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗿-𝟭𝟲𝗯 — A planet orbiting two stars, creating the possibility of two shadows.

𝗞𝟮-𝟭𝟴𝗯 — A fascinating world with detected water vapor, methane, and CO₂. At roughly 124 light-years away, however, visiting it remains far beyond our capabilities.

Finally, there is my spaceship: 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼, named after the spaceship from Guardians of the Galaxy, which I have always loved.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗱:

• TypeScript — Main language

• React 18 + Vite 6 — Site shell, HUD, and overlays

• Three.js — The universe itself

• React Three Fiber + Drei — Scene components and cockpit monitor

• Custom GLSL shaders — Stars, planets, atmospheres, and rings

• React Three Postprocessing — Bloom + vignette

• Zustand — State management and journey/camera systems

• Tailwind CSS v4 — Design tokens and instrument-panel UI

• Playwright (Python) — 12 browser test suites

• Web3Forms — Contact transmitter

I didn’t want to build just another portfolio. I wanted to build a universe that represents how I think: unique, connected, and always moving.

Portfolio link: https://gawad-b.github.io

I hope anyone visits the website enjoys it and feels the vibe i had while I was making and exploring it.

Note: Mobile version is not ready yet, there might be flickering in the website i am working on fixing it.
