What I Built

VICHAAR is a specialized digital platform designed to foster genuine, structured national socio-economic and political discourse within India. Built with a vision of "giving a new platform to the voice of the day-to-day people," it acts as an AI-moderated public square.

The goal was to move away from the chaotic noise of mainstream social media and build a space where critical Indian topics—ranging from localized civic issues to national policy changes—can be discussed thoughtfully, constructively, and transparently.

How I Built It

I built VICHAAR using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) to ensure high scalability and a smooth, dynamic user experience.

Technical Milestones & Architecture:

The Core Platform: Currently at a solid 80% development milestone, featuring real-time user feeds, structured debate/discussion threads, and secure authentication.
***AI-Assisted Moderation:* To keep public discourse healthy and free from toxic spam or extreme bias, I integrated an intelligent moderation layer that scans incoming content for constructive engagement guidelines without silencing genuine public concern.
Database Strategy: Utilized MongoDB to design flexible, highly relational-style schemas for handling threaded replies, upvotes, and diverse categorical topics efficiently.

One of the most interesting challenges was fine-tuning the balance between free speech and structural moderation, ensuring that the platform remains true to its core identity: an authentic reflection of the Indian public's voice.
