The learning flow allows Drona to:</p> <ul> <li>Teach concepts interactively</li> <li>Ask Socratic questions</li> <li>Evaluate the learner's responses</li> <li>Provide hints instead of immediately revealing answers</li> <li>Give explanations when the learner struggles</li> <li>Generate assignments</li> <li>Generate tests and quizzes</li> <li>Evaluate understanding and identify weak areas</li> </ul> <p>The project uses <strong>open-source AI</strong> as part of the learning workflow, with the AI integrated into the teaching, assignment, and assessment experience.</p> <p>The main idea was to build an AI system that encourages users to <strong>think, reason, and solve problems themselves</strong> rather than becoming dependent on AI-generated answers.</p> <h2> Why Does Open Innovation Matter? </h2> <p>Open innovation makes it possible to experiment with AI systems and educational workflows without being completely dependent on a single closed AI provider.</p> <p>For Drona, the important part isn't only the AI model. It is how the AI is used to create a <strong>Socratic learning experience</strong>.</p> <p>Open-source AI makes it possible to experiment with different models, prompts, teaching strategies, and workflows, and to build an educational system that can be customized around the learner.</p> <p>With a closed API, the AI could simply answer a student's question.
