The world’s first hackable open source JavaScript-powered and TensorFlow-powered smartwatch

Nodewatch/ Bangle.js was introduced as the conference badge at Nodeconf EU in November. A Kickstarter that followed was swiftly funded.

I had received my watch from NearForm in the post (employee benefits!) - and I didn't know what to do with it yet. But too good not to share for a quick lightning demo at LNUG.

See the talk on YouTube

Download the slides from the talk

This is a talk I gave at London Node User Group (LNUG) in November 2019. The multiplayer live audience game was an idea I'd had brewing for a while - ever since I was writing little mini games with Flash and building some museum exhibitions in the early 2000s. I was reading a lot at the time about game design and an anecdote I read told a story about a game of Pong for large audiences, with collective energy and excitement of the auditorium where everyone was playing the same game. I wanted to do that.

My initial intention was to one day recreate the Pong experience via a local network and phones as controllers. But it was the opportunity to showcase technology from Pusher, one of our meetup sponsors, was the spark that got me to do it...

All the source code to the game is in this GitHub repo
