Why I Started an Open-Source Python Handbook

A few days ago, I decided to start documenting my Python journey in public.

Not because I’m new to Python.

Not because I want to become a Python expert overnight.

But because I’ve realized that one of the best ways to improve as a developer is through consistent practice, building projects, and sharing what you learn.

So I created Python Handbook, an open-source GitHub repository where I regularly add Python projects, automation scripts, utilities, and experiments.

The idea is simple:

Build something consistently.

Document what I learn.

Share useful Python projects.

Create a place where others can learn and contribute.

So far, the repository includes projects such as:

Screenshot Automation

Password Generator

QR Code Generator

File Organizer

Folder Creator

Rich Text Terminal Applications

And this is only the beginning.

Why Open Source?

I didn’t want this to remain a personal repository forever.

There are thousands of developers building interesting Python projects every day.

Imagine having one repository where beginners can discover practical Python examples and contributors can showcase their projects.

That’s the vision.

Contributions Welcome

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced Python developer, you’re welcome to contribute.

You can:

Add a Python project

Improve documentation

Fix bugs

Suggest ideas

Help make the repository more useful

Repository:

https://github.com/georgegyan/python-handbook

What’s Next?

My goal is to continue adding projects regularly while improving the repository structure and contribution process.

I’m excited to see where this journey leads.

If you’re building with Python, I’d love to hear what project you’re currently working on.

Happy coding! 🚀
