Most frameworks feel slow to me. I was using Astro for my blog, and even Astro, which is supposed to be fast, felt slow. Then one day it hit me: why not write a really fast static site generator in Rust, the language that makes everything fast?

That's how agno started. It's a single 4.2 MB binary with no Node.js and no bundler.

Performance blew past my expectations. On the same corpus, cold builds are 3.9-12.8x faster than Hugo and 16.7-185x faster than Astro. I tested it with up to 10,000 posts, and the speed never let me down, it kept surprising me. The full methodology and caveats are in the README.

It has everything I personally need, but that is not the finish line for me, and I'm still working on it.

You can try it with
cargo install agno
.
