In this little project, I will show you how to make random greeting giver! You input a name, and it gives you a random greeting, and well-wishes you!

Random Module

And Functions

Let's get coding then!

Random Module

For this, we will need the random module. It allows us to make a random pick. You need to import it by writing:

import random

The Random module has been imported!

Making A List

Now we make two lists, one for greeting them and one for well-wishing them.

List For Greeting

greeting = ['Hello', 'Sup', 'Howdy', 'Hi', 'Hola', 'Greetings', 'Namaste']

List For Well-Wishing

hope = ["Hope you're having a great week!", "Hope you're having a great day!", "Hope you're doing well!", "Hope you're doing good!"]

Making An Input

Now we make an input for the user to enter their name.

name = input("> What's your name? ")

Calling The Random Module

Now we use random.choice, which as it sounds makes a random choice. There will be two of them, one for the greeting and one for a well-wish.

For The Greeting

value = random.choice(greeting)

For The Well-Wish

value2 = random.choice(hope)

Creating A Function

Now we create a function. This will greet the user!

def greet_user():
    print('❯ ' + value + ', ' + name + '! ')
    print('❯' + value2)

Finally...

...we call the function!

greet_user()

That's it, you have successfully created a Random Greeting Giver!

How To Make A Simple Number Comparer In Python

In this article I will show you how to make a extremely simple number comparer!

This program will compare two numbers and tell which one is greater.

This is a great project to improve your skills! As they say, practice makes perfect.

Making Inputs

First, we need to make the inputs so that the user can input their desired values.

First Number

num1 = int(input("❯ Enter A Number: "))

Second Number

num2 = int(input("❯ Enter Another Number: "))

Writing Logic

Lastly, we need to write if and else statement to and use the comparing operators <, >, = to check which number is greater.

if num1 > num2:
    print("❯ " + str(num1) + " is greater than " + str(num2))

else:
    print("❯ " + str(num2) + " is greater than " + str(num1))

That's it, congratulations! You have made a number comparer!

If you're new to Python, here is a simple project for you! Create an extremely simple Calculator to improve your skills! In this article, I will show you how to make one.

Making The Inputs

Here, we need to create three inputs for the user to input their desired values.

First we create num1, i.e the first number the user needs to calculate.

 num1 = int(input("❯ Enter The First Number: "))

Second, we create operator so that the user can input the operator. For example, if the user need to multiply, they can simply enter *.

operator = (input("❯ Enter '+', '-', '*' or '/' "))

Lastly for the inputs, we create num2, i.e the second number the user needs to calculate.

num2 = int(input("❯ Enter The Second Number: "))

Do not forget to add int(integer) before the inputs!

Writing Logic

Now we are going to code the logic behind that calculator.

If Statements

Using if statements, we are going to code so that the calculator respectively adds, subtracts, multiplies or divides.

Addition

if operator == '+':
    answer = num1 + num2

Subtraction

if operator == '-':
    answer = num1 - num2

Multiplication

if operator == '*':
    answer = num1 * num2

Division

if operator == '/':
    answer = num1 / num2

That's it for the logic!

The Final Step

That last thing you need to do is print it!

print("❯ The Answer Is " + str(answer))

Again make sure str(string) is there!

And that's it, the calculator has been successfully completed!

How To Add A Favicon To Your Webpage

Have you ever noticed a little icon on the browser tab of the webpage you are looking at? This little icon is called a "Favicon"

Adding it to your own HTML webpage is super-easy, and I will show you how!

Step 1

Go to favicon.io/favicon-converter and upload the image you want to convert into a Favicon.

Step 2

Click download.

Step 3

Choose a place for it to save.

Step 4

You will see it is downloaded as a ".zip".
Click the up arrow icon that you see in the bottom of your screen, and select "Show In Folder".

After that, right click the folder and click "Extract All".

Step 5

Now you will see a bunch of items, from them you need the one labelled "Favicon".

Step 6

Open your file manager and open the folder where your website is and drag and drop the file named "Favicon" to there. Rename it to favicon.ico. Now if you run it with live server, you can see it as the icon of your webpage!

Uploading it to GitHub or other Managers

Make sure that it is in the root directory!
If this doesn't work, you might need to add the following code to the head section on each of your HTML files.
