&lt;p&gt;Over the past year we built one corporate website with each framework. The data and the day-to-day feel were both direct.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;We ultimately chose Astro&lt;/strong&gt; for our own site, for a simple reason: for pure content-display sites, Astro leads across three dimensions — build speed, output size and SEO cleanliness.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;/h3&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Astro's strategy is "zero-JS by default" — each page outputs pure HTML wherever possible, and only components explicitly marked interactive get JS bundled. That makes builds very fast.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Measured&lt;/strong&gt; (bilingual corporate site, local build on Apple Silicon, bun):&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A comparable project on Next.js static export (&lt;code&gt;output: 'export'&lt;/code&gt;) typically builds in the seconds-to-tens-of-seconds range. The gap's source: Astro doesn't run React server rendering per page — it compiles templates straight to HTML; Next.js runs a full React build pipeline first.&lt;/p&gt;

  What happened after we deployed

&lt;p&gt;After rolling out these 7 items on our production site, we checked the server access logs. Within days, we saw GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, CCBot, Google-Extended, OAI-SearchBot and xAI-SearchBot all crawling the site.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;One honest caveat: &lt;strong&gt;crawled ≠ cited&lt;/strong&gt;. Server logs confirm that AI crawlers arrived (the "door is open" signal), but whether they cite your content in answers requires spot-checking each AI assistant — a separate, ongoing observation.&lt;/p&gt;
