However, because I am just a kid, I have a lot of things to handle at home, including school and homework. Trying to build a fully independent distro by myself right now takes up too much time and makes it very hard to manage my schoolwork.</p> <p>To keep the project alive without hurting my grades, I decided to use a rock-solid Debian base for versions 1, 2, and 3. This lets me focus on the parts I am passionate about creating right now. Once I get older and have a stronger foundation, my long-term plan is to transition RedSeaOS into a completely independent Linux distribution built from scratch!</p> <p>The project is currently under the codename "Origin" (v1.0-dev) and features:<br> • Apex Desktop Environment: A custom, lightweight desktop environment built on GNOME technologies.<br> • Shift: A custom package manager I am actively developing.</p> <p>I wanted to share my story and get the project out there early.
