DeepSeek Just Made AI Inference More Interesting 🚀

Everyone talks about bigger AI models.

But DeepSeek is focusing on something just as important: how efficiently we run them.

DeepSeek recently upgraded V4.1-Flash to V4.1-Flash-1017 and open-sourced DeepInfer, its high-performance inference framework.

 What's interesting?

⚡ Faster inference

DeepInfer includes optimized GPU kernels, better scheduling, and parallelism for large MoE models.

🧠 MoE architecture

V4.1-Flash has 552B total parameters, but only 8B are active for input and 16B for output.

💾 Lower memory usage

DeepSeek says its new KV-cache design uses 1/4 the HBM and 1/8 the SSD storage compared with the previous generation.

🔓 Open source

DeepInfer is available on GitHub and supports NVIDIA and Huawei hardware.

The bigger takeaway?

The AI race isn't only about building smarter models. It's also about running them faster, cheaper, and at scale.

Sources: DeepSeek · DeepInfer · DeepSeek API
