Free, local, no account."<br> If you write code for a living, your browser probably looks like mine: 50–100 tabs, docs in one window, research in another, a few half-read articles from last week.</p> <p>I kept losing tabs, opening pages I already had open, and feeling a constant low-level clutter that made it harder to focus. So I built <strong>Tabforge</strong>, a small Chrome extension for taming tab overload. I'm the maker, so take my enthusiasm with some salt.</p> <p><strong>What it does</strong></p> <ul> <li> <strong>Closes duplicate tabs</strong> across all your windows in one click</li> <li> <strong>Groups tabs by domain</strong>, so all the docs sit together and all the videos sit together</li> <li> <strong>Searches your open tabs</strong>, with a filter by site, across every window</li> <li> <strong>Labels tabs</strong> ("Read later", "Work", or your own) so you can filter by them</li> <li> <strong>Suggests cleanups</strong> when you have too many tabs or lots of duplicates</li> <li> <strong>Undoes an accidental close</strong> with a recently closed list</li> <li> <strong>Quick actions:</strong> pin, mute, close the tabs to the right</li> <li> <strong>A floating timer</strong> for focus sessions, plus dark mode</li> </ul> <h2> Privacy </h2> <p>Everything stays in your browser. There's no account, and nothing is sent anywhere.</p> <h2> Who it's for </h2> <p>People who keep a lot of tabs open on purpose: developers, researchers, students. If you're comfortable with 5 tabs, you don't need it. If you're at 60 and can't find anything, it might help.</p> <h2> Where it stands </h2> <p>It's early and I'm the only developer, with a small number of users. I'm working on better saving and restoring of whole sessions, since that's what heavy-tab users ask for most. The core will stay free.
