This is a submission for the June Solstice Game Jam

  What I Built

The Clockwork Solstice is an interactive simulation game designed to bridge the meticulous elegance of traditional mechanical horology, watch modding, and digital aesthetics.

In high horology, tracking celestial movements is called a complication. While features like moon phases are common, tracking the Solstice is one of the rarest, most mechanically complex complications to ever be engineered into a physical watch movement. It requires an intricate train of gears, absolute mathematical reduction ratios, and perfect cosmic synchronization.

Following the core theme of transition, light, and darkness, the game features a custom Celestial Globe Toggle—a bi-tonal astronomical sphere split vertically. Clicking it physically shifts the time, mood, gameplay mechanics, and physics of the laboratory:

The Winter Solstice (Solstice d'Hiver): Deep cosmic slate layouts, raw steel structures, and brass accents mimicking a 19th-century observatory under a clear, frozen night sky.

The Summer Solstice (Solstice d'Été): A vibrant layout with rich magenta and deep violet gradients, neon-glowing outlines, and intense glassmorphic panels celebrating solar abundance.

  Demo

I have created a comprehensive technical infographic detailing the interface, mechanical interactions, and core architecture of the simulator. You can also test the live deployment directly below!

  Code

You can explore the full open-source architecture directly on GitHub:

This project is an artistic and interactive tribute to modding and traditional mechanical watchmaking. It brings the mechanics of watchmaking to life in the form of an interactive astronomical clock governed by the dynamics of the two annual solstices.

🌐 English Version

An exquisite, highly interactive simulation game bridging the age-old elegance of mechanic horology, watch modding, and digital aesthetics. Crafted by Alex Koncept.

🌸 Passion & Philosophy

Born from a genuine obsession with high-precision mechanical watchmaking, watch modding, and astronomical complications, The Clockwork Solstice is designed to translate physical tactile aesthetics into digital animation. It connects the meticulous mathematical flow of gears, escapements, and calibrating springs with real-time browser dynamics and physics equations. It is a sensory celebration of time, astronomy, and digital craftsmanship.

🌓 Core Dual-Theming Architecture

At the absolute center of this ecosystem lies the Celestial Globe Selector, enabling users to instantly cycle between two radically distinct astronomic states:

Winter Solstice (Solstice d'Hiver): An elegant, high-contrast dark space. Deep charcoal and rich slate grays paired with vintage amber highlights (
#D4A359
). Captures the quiet composure…

View on GitHub

  How I Built It

The application is built on a modern, ultra-responsive web stack designed for absolute mathematical accuracy and fluid visual micro-interactions:

Real Gear-Train Physics: The simulation operates with strict horological reduction laws ($1.5\times$ and $1.33\times$ ratios) acting on virtual 36, 24, and 18-tooth wheels animated seamlessly via Framer Motion (
motion/react
).

Real-time Synthesized Audio: To ensure an "offline-first" lightweight architecture with zero external heavy assets, mechanical escapement clicks (the watch heartbeat) and harmonic chimes are synthesized dynamically in real-time using the native Web Audio API.

Glassmorphic HUD & Telemetry: Highly polished responsive panels using premium glassmorphism (
backdrop-blur-xl
), variable translucent borders, and custom backing radial light spots powered by Tailwind CSS.

Multi-Lingual Architecture: Fully synchronized English and French localizations (
en
/
fr
) mapping technical horological terms across the entire active console.

  Prize Category

🧠 Best Ode to Alan Turing

This project is a direct tribute to Alan Turing, the father of modern computing, through its structural core and underlying math:

Algorithmic Determinism: Just as Turing envisioned state machines operating on precise logical transitions, the entire simulator runs on strict physical reduction mathematics. The interaction of the 36, 24, and 18-tooth wheels acts as a physical, mechanical execution of a logic train—a deterministic gear-based algorithm.

The Logic of Universal Balance: The dual-state architecture (the transition from Summer to Winter Solstice) simulates a binary system ($0$ and $1$, light and shadow) governed by strict computational boundaries, directly mirroring Turing’s foundational work on systems and universal logic states.

  🤖 Best Google AI Usage

To bring this intricate horological concept to life under tight time constraints, I utilized an advanced Vibe Coding workflow accelerated by Gemini AI.

Instead of manual boilerplate writing, I leveraged natural language to orchestrate the vector mathematics for the physical gear alignments and the real-time node synthesis for the Web Audio API. Gemini served as a high-tier structural architect, helping me maintain an optimized, production-ready React and TypeScript deployment with zero compilation errors on the first Netlify build.

  📄 License & Credits

This project is fully open-source and licensed under the MIT License.

Developed with passion by Alex Koncept (2026) — Bending time, one gear at a time. ⏱️🌗☀️🚀

This is a submission for the GitHub Finish-Up-A-Thon Challenge

  🛠️ The Comeback Story

For months, ORBA_OS was a quiet ghost hidden in my private repositories. It started as a fragmented collection of Python scripts and mobile prototypes with a grand vision: creating a 100% local, cognitive, and multimodal personal assistant ecosystem. But between daily life, repository hygiene, and local model optimization, the project sat unfinished.

The launch of the GitHub Finish-Up-A-Thon was the ultimate catalyst I needed to revive ORBA_OS and bring it to publishing readiness. To make things even better, Google just dropped the brand-new Gemma 4 12B capabilities alongside the lightweight local models. The stars aligned: I finally had the perfect setup to push this cross-platform ecosystem across the finish line and make it fully open-source!

For this Finish‑Up‑A‑Thon sprint, I focused heavily on turning a raw prototype into a secure, production-ready repository:

Repository Hygiene: Added crucial community files (
SECURITY.md
,
CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md
,
THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md
,
CHANGELOG.md
).

Automation: Set up GitHub templates (Issues/PRs) and a CI skeleton for dependency audits and lint checks.

Security Guardrails: Documented strict webhook validation and model checksum verifications to make the ecosystem trustworthy for users and contributors.

⚡ The Transformation: Before vs. After

  Before

Status: Hidden in a private repository, unpolished, monolithic, and undocumented.

Architecture: Hard-coded paths, zero UI, and separate experimental codebases.

Privacy & Friction: Untested local integrations with high latency and zero security guardrails for remote interactions.

  After

Status: 100% Public, Open-Source, and ready for the community!

Orba OS Mobile: A native Android app (Kotlin + native C++) running Gemma locally, integrating native Piper TTS via JNI, and featuring a stunning OrbaSphere UI rendered with AGSL shaders.

Orba OS Desktop: A cross‑platform desktop assistant (Tauri + FastAPI + Python) with a transparent floating widget, local STT/TTS, and secure remote approval triggers via Twilio/WhatsApp.

Privacy First: An offline-first architecture with a local RAG engine ensuring zero data leakage to third parties.

  🤖 How GitHub Copilot Helped

As a practitioner of "Vibe Coding", GitHub Copilot was my ultimate pair-programmer for repository finish‑up tasks:

Boilerplate & Templates: Copilot accelerated routine writing by instantly drafting markdown templates, checklists, and example security wordings, allowing me to focus on core design.

CI Configuration: It suggested optimal CI steps for security linting and dependency audits, mapping out the automated workflow seamlessly.

Refining Documentation: Copilot helped polish the English technical explanations in the
README.md
and security files, making onboarding simpler for future open-source contributors.

  🌍 The Result

ORBA_OS has successfully transitioned from a private draft into an open ecosystem where users can leverage autonomous, cognitive assistants safely on their own hardware.

GitHub Repository: https://github.com/AlexKoncept/ORBA_OS 🚀

Website: [https://orba-ecosystem-project-byalexkoncept.netlify.app/)

Live Showcase Website: https://orbaproject-byalexkoncept.netlify.app/

  📦 Quick Local Demo (Desktop)

cd Orba_OS_Desktop/backend
python -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
python main.py

Open Orba_OS_Desktop/frontend/index.html in your browser to connect to your local sovereign assistant!

  🤝 Conclusion & Next Steps

This challenge gave me the exact push I needed to take this project from the shadows into the open-source light. Next, I plan to automate model checksum verifications and expand unit tests for the Android build smoke tests.

Huge thanks to GitHub and the DEV community for creating this momentum. Let's bring AI back home, where our data belongs! 🦾

Hello everyone 👋

My name is Alex. I am a French IT professional with a deep passion for technology, artificial intelligence, DIY projects, and creative experimentation.

For nearly two years now, I've been building, prototyping, and sharing personal projects under the name "Alex Koncept".

What started as a way to learn and challenge myself has gradually evolved into a growing ecosystem. I totally got hooked on the power of "Vibe Coding" and augmented imagination, allowing me to turn wild ideas into working code faster than ever.

To bring everything together, I created my central portfolio:
🌐 Alex Koncept Universe

  🚀 Exploring the "Koncept" Universe

This portfolio serves as the central hub for all my projects created out of curiosity, creativity, and a desire to continuously learn. Over the past two years, I've explored many different areas:

🛠️ DIY and Maker Concepts

🎨 Creative Experiments & Digital Tools

⌚ Mechanical Watchmaking & 3D Design

📦 Open Source Projects

🤖 Artificial Intelligence & Local LLMs

🌐 Web Development & Agentic Workflows

  ⚡ My Latest Drop: KonceptCrew

My latest project is called KonceptCrew. It’s an AI-powered platform designed to bring together multiple specialized AI assistants in a collaborative environment. The goal is to help users access different expertise profiles through a simple and intuitive experience.

The project comes in two interconnected parts:

🌐 The Showcase Website

📱 The Web Application

🌍 A Note on Accessibility (FR / EN)

One aspect that is particularly important to me is accessibility.

Although I am French, I design my applications and websites with an international audience in mind. Most of my projects are available in both French and English through language selectors, dedicated pages, or multilingual interfaces (usually a quick slide or click toggle), allowing users from any country to explore them easily.

  🤝 Let's Connect!

I believe technology becomes more valuable when it is shared, which is why I enjoy publishing my projects openly and gathering feedback from the community.

I'm always happy to connect with fellow developers, makers, AI enthusiasts, creators, and anyone passionate about building new things.

Feel free to explore my Portfolio, take KonceptCrew for a spin, and share your thoughts in the comments!

Thanks for reading, and welcome to my universe 🚀
