This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady

 What I Built

I built Lazy Notes Maker, a Python-based desktop utility designed to completely eliminate the tedious task of manual note-taking and organization.

Instead of a student or professional wasting time reading through chaotic paragraphs of mixed thoughts, tasks, and ideas to sort them out, this tool automates the entire segregation process. It accepts unstructured, chaotic text lines and automatically filters them into organized pillars of "Core Ideas" and "Action Items." Anyone who takes messy meeting logs or study dumps gets to be a little lazier because the script formats it all cleanly in a single click.

 Demo

Since this runs directly as a local text sorting application on my desktop, here is the quick textual flow:

Copy-paste a disorganized mess of text lines (e.g., mixing things like "buy milk", "remember to study anatomy", and "need to fix car").

The program automatically outputs a beautifully sorted markdown structure dividing them into proper task lists and core conceptual highlights.

 Code

You can find the clean python script and review the full source code in my repository here:
https://github.com/anaghah2926-dotcom/smart-study-note-maker.

 How I Built It

The project is built entirely in Python using clean, native logic workflows to emulate classification frameworks. The application ingests dynamic multi-line user inputs, processes them through a custom logic system designed to detect intent keywords, and automatically segregates the strings. It acts as a lightweight, zero-dependency data classification tool that provides deterministic note organization right on the user's local machine.

 Why Does Open Innovation Matter?

Open innovation and open-source models are incredibly important because note-taking frequently contains sensitive thoughts, corporate meeting details, or private academic study material. Relying on closed commercial APIs means handing over private user conversations to external server logs. By utilizing a simple, open, and local setup, Lazy Notes Maker guarantees total data privacy—everything stays on your computer. Furthermore, it operates with zero token costs and no internet requirements, making it completely accessible to everyone.

 Prize Categories

I am entering this project into the following category:

Open-Source AI Pioneer
