Building InternLog with AI and Replit: Fast, Useful, Occasionally Frustrating

I recently built InternLog, a small app for tracking internship work, writing weekly reports, and keeping an eye on progress toward hour goals.

AI helped me move quickly, especially when working through ideas and building features. But it wasn’t always smooth. Sometimes it repeated a mistake, or a fix that seemed settled came back after another agent changed the code. It reminded me that AI can speed up development, but it still needs careful direction and testing.

Replit was a good place to build the project. I liked how smooth it felt to work in and how quickly I could publish a website. The mobile emulator was especially useful for checking how the app behaved on a smaller screen.

I did find parts of the interface confusing. At times, I wasn’t sure whether something was still running, what was waiting in the task queue, or what had happened to an earlier fix. A few changes also overlapped briefly, which made it harder to tell what was going on.

Overall, I enjoyed building with Replit. It made the process feel fast and approachable, even when I had to pause and sort out what the tools were doing. My main takeaway: AI is a helpful collaborator, but clear progress feedback and careful testing matter just as much as speed.
