I’m exploring an open-source project focused on making offline-first applications more reliable, and I’d love to learn from developers who have experience building apps that synchronize data across devices, especially when internet connectivity is unreliable.

I’m particularly interested in the challenges of data synchronization, conflict resolution, duplicate operations, missed updates, and reconnecting after being offline.

I’m currently researching the problem before committing to a solution, and I’d appreciate your insights!

If you’ve worked with technologies or projects involving CRDTs, local-first databases, peer-to-peer synchronization, or offline-capable mobile and web apps, I’d love to hear your experience.

How do you usually discover synchronization or data consistency bugs in your applications?

What kinds of bugs have you encountered — lost updates, duplicate operations, missed changes after reconnecting, or conflicts between devices?

How do you currently test synchronization: custom tests, shared test suites, simulations, or integration tests?

What is the hardest failure scenario to reproduce or test reliably?

When a synchronization bug happens in production, what information do you wish you had to understand what went wrong?

Would a portable testing tool that generates operations, simulates network failures, checks data consistency, and helps reproduce failures be useful to your workflow?

What would such a tool need to support for you to trust it in a real project?

Would you consider trying an early open-source prototype if it addressed a problem you actually face?

🎯 My goal: Learn from real-world experiences, identify a meaningful problem, and potentially build a practical open-source tool with the community.
