started engineering with a simple dream: learn, build, get a job, and become an engineer.

I studied. I worked on projects. I completed internships. I learned new technologies. I kept improving my skills and maintained a decent CGPA.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something nobody really prepares you for:

Getting your first tech job can be harder than learning the technology itself.

As a fresher, you are expected to have experience.

But the question is — where does that experience come from if companies don't give freshers a chance?

You apply to jobs. You customize your resume. You prepare for interviews. You reach out to people for referrals.

And then comes another reality: referrals.

Sometimes people don't respond. Sometimes they simply ghost you. And as a girl, asking for a referral can occasionally become uncomfortable when someone treats the interaction as an opportunity to flirt instead of simply helping professionally.

Of course, not everyone is like that. There are genuinely helpful people who refer and guide others. But the uncomfortable experiences are real too.

And then you look at your resume and wonder:

Three internships. Projects. Skills. A decent CGPA. Willingness to learn.

Still no job.

At some point, many engineering graduates start looking at banking, government jobs, or completely different career paths.

People often joke:

"Engineering mein engineer, engineering ke alawa sab kuch karta hai."

But maybe the reality is more complicated.

Sometimes engineers don't leave tech because they don't love technology.

Sometimes they are simply tired of fighting for an opportunity.

College can also play a role. We are often taught how to score marks and maintain a CGPA, but not enough about how the actual job market works — how to approach companies, build professional networks, prepare for real interviews, or gain practical experience.

And then there is the endless cycle:

Job requires experience → experience requires a job.

So what do we do?

Maybe we keep trying.

Because if engineering has taught me anything, it is this:

You don't stop just because the first solution didn't work. You debug it, learn, try again, and keep going.

Maybe the first job takes longer than expected.

Maybe the path changes.

Maybe we have to try things we never planned.

But as long as we keep learning and moving forward, the story isn't over.

Until something good happens, it isn't the end.
