This is a submission for the DEV April Fools Challenge

 What I Built

I Built a Completely Useless App That Thinks For You

Most apps try to make you more productive.

This one replaces your brain.

It started as a joke.

I was tired of overthinking simple decisions like:

“Should I do this?”
“Is this a good idea?”
“Am I overcomplicating everything again?”

So I thought:

👉 What if instead of thinking… I could just ask different versions of a brain?

Not AI.
Not productivity advice.
Not “top 10 tips to succeed.”

Something… stranger.

🧠 The Idea

I built a fake app.

It doesn’t calculate anything.
It doesn’t optimize anything.
It doesn’t even try to be correct.

It just gives you different perspectives.

From characters.

🎭 Meet the Council

When you ask a question, six “minds” answer:

🔥 Chaos Goblin

“Do it. Worst case? Great story.”

🧊 Cold CEO

“Define risk. If survivable, proceed.”

🌿 Grandma

“Will this bring you peace… or just noise?”

🎭 Strategist

“Don’t ask if. Ask when it wins.”

🌊 Drifter

“If it feels heavy… why are you forcing it?”

🛠️ Builder

“What’s step one? Do that. Then talk.”

That’s it.

No final answer.
No “best option.”

Just… six ways of seeing the same thing.

😂 Why It’s Completely Useless

It doesn’t solve your problem.

It doesn’t tell you what to do.

It doesn’t even agree with itself.

Sometimes the answers contradict each other completely.

Sometimes one of them says something so absurd you ignore it.

And yet…

🧠 Something Weird Happens

After a few questions, I noticed something:

I stopped looking for answers.

I started choosing perspectives.

Instead of:

“What should I do?”

It became:

“Which way of thinking feels right here?”

And that changes everything.

Most people don’t struggle with lack of advice.

They struggle with being stuck inside one voice in their head.

This “useless app” doesn’t fix decisions.

👉 It breaks that loop.

It shows you:

the impulsive version
the logical version
the emotional version
the strategic version
the intuitive version
the practical version

All at once.

And then quietly says:

👉 You choose.

🎭 The Interface (because of course it needed one)

It looks like a strange meeting.

A dim room.
Six characters sitting in front of you.
A warm light in the center.

You ask a question.

They answer.

No pressure.
No judgment.

Just… perspectives.
🖥️ What It Actually Looks Like

Imagine opening the app.

You see this:

“Your brain is tired. Borrow a better one.”

A simple input box:

👉 What are you overthinking today?

Below it:

Six characters waiting.

Not buttons. Not tools.

More like… personalities in a room.

You choose:

one voice
or
all of them

And press:

👉 “Consult the council”

The screen shifts slightly.

Like you entered somewhere.

Then they answer.

Not in paragraphs.

In short, sharp sentences.

Like people who already made up their mind.

Sometimes they interrupt each other.

Sometimes they completely disagree.

Sometimes one of them says something that hits a little too close.

There’s also a small button:

👉 “This feels too real”

If you click it…

They stop joking.

☕ Why I Built It

Honestly?

For fun.

And maybe because sometimes thinking alone feels like being trapped in a room with one opinion that won’t shut up.

🫖 Final Thought

This app is useless.

It won’t make you successful.
It won’t fix your life.
It won’t make decisions for you.

But it might do one small thing:

👉 help you see your situation differently

And sometimes…

That’s all you needed anyway.

If you made it this far, you’re probably not here for the app.

You’re here for the way of thinking behind it.

And if that’s the case…

You already know which voice you’ll listen to next.

 Demo

https://annkey-art.github.io/Rent-a-Brain/

 Code

https://github.com/annkey-art/Rent-a-Brain

 How I Built It

Once upon a time i use my brain but it was not enough knowledge to do specific projects so i connect wit Chat GPT and now can create more useless things than before.

 Prize Category

<!-- If you are submitting for a specific prize category (Best Google AI Usage, Best Ode to Larry Masinter, or Community Favorite), tell us which one and why! --> The Teapot is my prize category wherever it is.

Music Creation Is Broken. Not Because of Tech — But Because of Flow.

We’ve built incredible tools.

AI can generate full tracks.
Distribution is one API away.
Content can reach millions instantly.

And yet…

Creating music still feels fragmented.

The Problem

The current workflow looks like this:

generate idea
export
move to another tool
find collaborators elsewhere
upload somewhere else
distribute separately

Every step:

context switch
energy drop
idea degradation

Proposed System

A unified system where:

creation
collaboration
production
distribution
promotion

exist as one pipeline.

System Architecture (simple view)
Core modules:
AI generation engine
user/project layer
collaboration marketplace (bands, event management, video makers or Ai video generator)
distribution integration (RouteNote, DistroKid , other )
promotion layer
Flow:
Idea → Generate → Collaborate → Produce → Distribute → Promote

No external jumps.

Integrations
Suno AI music generator (or similar AI engine)
DistroKid API
social platforms for promotion
Design Principle

Not feature-first.

flow-first design

Minimize:

clicks
context switching
decision fatigue
MVP Suggestion
basic AI generation
simple project storage
upload + distribution
minimal UI
Why It Matters

Tools already exist.

But:

connection between them doesn’t

And that’s where most ideas fail.

Closing Thought

The problem isn’t lack of creativity.
It’s the friction between steps.

LANDING PAGE CONCEPT
HERO SECTION

Headline:

A Place Where Music Is Born

Subtext:

From first idea to real audience.
Without switching tools. Without breaking flow.

VISUAL

Featured image here

SECTION: HOW IT WORKS
Create
Collaborate
Produce
Distribute
Promote

(simple icons, clean)

SECTION: WHO IT’S FOR
creators
musicians
builders
CTA

“Build it. Or be part of it.”

Concept: All-in-One Music Creation & Distribution Platform
Working name
SoundFlow
Create2Stage
EchoForge
TrackBridge
From your first idea to your first audience - all in one place.
Cant make this idea easier, but if you still need to discuss it further you are more than welcome to visit
The Hidden Cost of Ignoring Experience: Why Age Diversity Still Matters

When companies build teams, they often choose people who are similar.
Similar age.
Similar interests.
Similar way of thinking.
On the surface, it makes sense.
People get along faster.
Communication feels easier.
Decisions come quickly.
And sometimes, it even works.
But very often, this approach quietly destroys the potential of the team.
The Comfort Trap
When everyone thinks alike, something dangerous happens.
Not immediately.
But gradually.
Conversations become comfortable.
Too comfortable.
ideas are rarely challenged
discussions turn into agreement
decisions are accepted without deeper thinking
It feels efficient.
But it kills something essential:
creative tension
Creativity Is Not Born from Agreement
The most interesting solutions rarely come from people who all agree.
They come from:
different perspectives
conflicting ideas
questioning assumptions
Not conflict for the sake of ego.
But friction that improves thinking.
A team that only agrees will never see what it is missing.

We often think that harmony creates the best results.
But the most beautiful nebulae in the universe
are not born from agreement.
They are born from chaos.
From collision.
From tension between forces.
And from that tension, something extraordinary appears.
Teams work in a similar way.
If every idea is accepted,
if every voice agrees,
if no one challenges anything…
Nothing new is created.
Only repetition.
What Experience Brings
More experienced employees often:
recognize patterns
anticipate risks
understand consequences
know what has failed before
They bring stability.
But sometimes, they can fall into familiar patterns:
“This is how it’s always been done.”
What Youth Brings
Younger team members often bring:
curiosity
energy
openness to new ideas
willingness to take risks
They challenge assumptions.
But without guidance, that energy can lead to unnecessary mistakes.
Where Real Strength Comes From
The real strength is not in choosing one over the other.
It’s in combining both.
When it works:
experience prevents avoidable mistakes
curiosity opens new directions
structure meets innovation
And something better emerges.
The Real Problem Is Not Age
It’s not about age itself.
It’s about diversity of perspective.
Age is simply one of the clearest forms of it.
The same applies to:
background
education
culture
ways of thinking
When everyone approaches problems in the same way,
blind spots grow.
But Diversity Alone Is Not Enough
Different people in one room don’t automatically create better results.
They need something in common:
willingness to cooperate
ability to listen
respect for different perspectives
Without that, diversity becomes conflict.
With it, diversity becomes strength.
Final Thought
A team built on similarity may feel efficient.
But it often lacks depth.
A team built on thoughtful diversity may feel harder to manage.
But it sees more.
And in the long run, that makes all the difference.
The best teams are not the ones that agree the fastest.
They are the ones that think the deepest.
The Most Expensive Holiday a Founder Can Take

We all need a holiday.
To refresh the mind.
To relax the body.
To reset the nervous system.
Even the best leaders need time off to think clearly and work effectively.
So you decide to leave.
You book a trip somewhere far away.
You pack your bag.
You turn off your phone.
The tickets are expensive, but manageable.
At least… that’s what you think.
Because soon, another cost appears.
And this one is much higher.
When You Leave, the Cracks Appear
As soon as you step away, small cracks begin to show in your organization.
At first, they seem harmless.
But they were always there.
Your presence was simply holding everything together.
Holidays Are Not the Problem
Let’s be clear:
Holidays are not the problem.
You deserve rest.
You need it to avoid burnout.
You need distance to think better and see things clearly.
The problem is something else.
A holiday doesn’t create problems.
It reveals the ones that were already there.
The Loss of Control
When you were present, everything worked.
You approved decisions.
You guided direction.
You kept control.
Even when others were involved, you held all the strings.
So everything felt stable.
But once you leave, those strings disappear.
And suddenly:

people hesitate

decisions are delayed

no one feels responsible
The system doesn’t break instantly.
It slowly loses structure.
People wait instead of acting.
Projects get blocked.
Communication weakens.
The world doesn’t pause for two weeks.
So things start falling apart.
When Everything Depends on You
Teams become stuck.
No one wants to take responsibility.
No one wants to make the wrong decision.
Contractors can’t move forward.
Customers start feeling delays.
The company begins to shake, even if from the outside it still looks fine.
The Root Cause
The truth is uncomfortable:
You didn’t build a system.
You became the system.
Decisions, knowledge, responsibility, everything stayed with you.
And when you disappeared, there was nothing left to hold it together.
Why Leaders Build It This Way
This doesn’t always come from bad intention.
Sometimes it’s speed.
You think faster.
You act faster.
It feels easier to do things yourself than to explain them.
And at the beginning, it works.
But only once.
Because if you teach someone properly,
they will eventually do it just as well.
And you gain time.
Sometimes it’s lack of trust.
You’re not sure others will do it “right.”
But instead of testing and developing people,
you keep control.
And never find out what they’re capable of.
Sometimes it’s something deeper.
A quiet thought:
“If they can do everything… do they still need me?”
And the answer is uncomfortable.
Yes, they can do many things.
But leadership is not about doing everything.
It’s about building a system that works without constant control.
The Hidden Risk
From the outside, everything looks stable.
The business is growing.
Projects are moving.
Results are coming.
But the system is fragile.
Because it depends on one person.
Now imagine something different.
Not a planned holiday.
But a situation you didn’t choose:
health issue
emergency
forced absence
You can’t predict it.
And suddenly, your business is exposed at the worst possible moment.
A Real Scenario
Imagine a building management company.
They handle everything for multiple businesses:

maintenance

plumbing

electricity

emergency repairs
If something breaks, they respond immediately and coordinate contractors.
On paper, the structure looks solid.
There are project managers.
Each one is responsible for a part of the business.
Everything should run independently.
But in reality, the owner controls everything.
Every decision goes through him.
Every project is discussed, reviewed, approved, sometimes more than once.
Not because the team is incapable.
But because control never left his hands.
Over time, something changes.
People stop feeling responsible.
They wait.
Because they know:
“In the end, he will decide anyway.”
Then He Goes on Holiday
Winter comes.
And this winter is harsh.
Heavy snow.
Extreme cold.
And with it: problems.
Not one.
Many.
At the same time.
pipes start breaking
roofs begin collapsing
systems fail across multiple properties
Customers start calling.
Urgent cases everywhere.
And Then Reality Hits
The owner is on holiday.
Unavailable.
And suddenly, the system is exposed.
Not because the situation is impossible to manage.
But because no one knows how to manage it.
No one wants to decide:
which problem is most urgent
which client must be handled first
who gets priority
how to coordinate contractors
People hesitate.
They wait.
They pass responsibility.
And while they wait, the situation escalates.
What Actually Failed
It wasn’t the weather.
It wasn’t the scale of the problem.
It was the absence of a system.
The company didn’t fail because of complexity.
It failed because decision-making was never distributed.
Everything depended on one person.
And when that person disappeared,
so did the structure.
What This Really Means
A business that only works when you are present
is not strong.
It is dependent.
And dependency is risk.
What You Can Do Instead
Delegate decisions, not just tasks
Share context, not only instructions
Allow people to take responsibility
Accept small mistakes to avoid big ones
Build systems that don’t require constant approval
Because control feels safe.
But systems create stability.
A Simple Test
Ask yourself one question:
What happens if I disappear for two weeks?
If the answer is:
everything slows down
decisions stop
people wait
Then you don’t have a system.
You have a dependency.
Final Thought
The most expensive holiday
is not the one you take.
It’s the one your business cannot survive.
