Promoting your SaaS product through Appsumo

The other day I was reading a cool article on Appsumo Deals by the founder of one of my favorite apps - Krisp (my 2 previous posts are also about this app if you want to explore).
It recently launched on one of the lifetime deal platforms called Appsumo and the results were quite outstanding to say the least.

$214,500 total sales during the entire launch period

1,000 purchases in one day

5,500 new active users

Okay, so Appsumo is a lifetime deal platform where the coolest innovative products are offered for a very cheap price for lifetime. The Appsumo community is full of innovative and tech savvy people who have a passion for technology.

Launching on this platform scores you a lot of connections, valuable feedback for your product, possible new use cases and features and most of all positive vibes that your product is headed in the right direction.

One of the most difficult things for your new SaaS product is getting the right audience for it without having to spend much budget. And how does that work? By utilizing the right platforms.

Appsumo will help you not only generate some revenue but also improve your product and have a backup audience who is willing to test it and become a part of its story. The only thing you have to do is prepare for the launch the best you can.

You just submit your product on their website and wait for review. Once you're set up for the launch, you will have to spend a couple of sleepless nights with your team to keep up with the customer support. Sumo-lings (Appsumo community members) can ask questions, give feedback and leave reviews everywhere - on your Appsumo product page, in social media, on your website (which means you need to have a customer support chat tool).
There are other vital aspects that you need to consider before launching, but I'll leave that to the Krisp article.
For now all this sounds busy but exciting at the same time - worth a shot for your SaaS product.

Krisp App that removes noise during calls is now officially available for both Mac and Windows

I recently wrote a post about this new AI app that removes background noise while you're in a call with someone. It's called Krisp and it's backed up by Deep Neural Networks.

So, essentially it works bidirectionally, which means it cancels the noise going from you to other call participants (Krisp Microphone), and the noise coming from other call participants to you (Krisp Speaker). All you do is choose it as a microphone and speaker from the conferencing app of your choice (like Slack, Zoom, Skype, Webex or anything your prefer) and then enjoy the calls.

For the most important part - it works with any conferencing app (that allows to change audio settings), any headset or headphones (wired and wireless) and any microphone and speaker.

Now the app officially launched as a full product for both Mac and Windows. They changed up the interface a bit, which looks way cool.

They introduced 2 new free and paid plans - Krisp for Individuals and Krisp for Teams

Using the app to remove noise coming from others to you (Krisp Speaker) is free of charge, while if you want to remove your own noise as well, you will have to upgrade to Krisp Premium ($20/month or $120 a year). Of course, there's a 14 day free trial with no credit card required.

Krisp for teams works the same way. You register with your corporate email and use Krisp to remove other's noise for free, and upgrade ($20/month/user) to Krisp Premium to remove your own noise too.

What I think is the best about Krisp now, is that they have a neat referral program.

You can basically share Krisp with a personal link to friends and earn free credits.

Invite one friend - you get Krisp free credits for 3 months, while they get 2.

Invite 2 friends - you get Krisp for half a year while they get for 2.

This works differently for Krisp for teams. Here you get to invite as many team members as you want (with the same corporate email) and you all get Krisp for free for half a year. You'll have to make sure it's done within the first 7 days of your own registration.

For now, I believe this app has a great potential as a productivity app along with other windows and mac productivity apps. It will be an extra help for all remote workers, freelancers, teams and enterprises out there.

I'm excited to see what they'll do in the future.

The app's been featured on Product Hunt as the Product of the Day. You can check their official Krisp Website and test the app yourself.

AI in the Field of Audio Communications

An interesting find of a noise cancelling app called Krisp which is backed up by DNN.

AI is taking a new turn in the field of audio communications. This AI powered new noise cancelling app mutes background noise in real time calls with low latency. The DNN is trained to remove background noise from the human voice allowing the person to continue the call noiselessly without any interruptions.

The app is an additional layer between the laptop's physical microphone&speaker and the conferencing app that is used for the call. It works with any conferencing app which allows you to choose the microphone and speaker.

The way it works is simple: If you choose it as a microphone it adds a virtual microphone that receives audio from the real microphone. Then the audio is processed, the noise is removed and the audio is transmitted to the conferencing app. This is the function called "Speak" allowing you to speak without noise.

If you choose Krisp as a speaker, it will add a virtual speaker that will receive the audio from the conferencing app, process it to remove noise and then transmit it to the physical speaker. This will allow you to listen to other call participants without noise, while they don't even have the app installed.

The audio processing is done locally on the device, so no audio is stored anywhere or sent to the servers.

The app has gained quite the popularity ever since its launch in October of 2018. It was featured on TechCrunch, Product Hunt, HackerNews, Nvidia and more.
Many people have tested it and gave their opinion that this app will work perfectly for all the remote workers, freelancers and digital nomads out there.

The app has a new unique perspective on the remote world and is a new productive way to take your remote conferencing to the next level. With the growing number of windows and mac productivity apps, Krisp can make it into the list and add a more professional experience to those working remotely.

To be short and concise - you can now remove background noise without having to mute yourself or others during calls. All you do is switch on this app and that's it.
It's curious as to where is this idea going to expand and how much further can AI take us in the field of audio communications.
