What I Built

GigCraft AI is a web application concept designed to help freelancers and independent creators spend less time on repetitive business tasks and more time doing creative work.

Freelancers often need to prepare client proposals, create invoices, write professional messages, and describe products for online listings. Managing these tasks individually can take valuable time, especially for people working alone or starting their freelance journey.

GigCraft AI brings these workflows together in one workspace with four tools:

Invoice Generator: A workspace for preparing professional invoices.

Proposal Writer: Helps freelancers prepare personalized project proposals using client and project details.

Client Messages: A space for drafting professional client communication and payment reminders.

Product Listings: Helps sellers prepare compelling product descriptions.

The goal is to make everyday business tasks simpler and more accessible for independent creators, freelancers, and small businesses.

React + Vite

This template provides a minimal setup to get React working in Vite with HMR and some ESLint rules.

Currently, two official plugins are available:

@vitejs/plugin-react uses Oxc
@vitejs/plugin-react-swc uses SWC

React Compiler

The React Compiler is not enabled on this template because of its impact on dev & build performances. To add it, see this documentation.

Expanding the ESLint configuration

If you are developing a production application, we recommend using TypeScript with type-aware lint rules enabled. Check out the TS template for information on how to integrate TypeScript and typescript-eslint in your project.

How I Built It

I am building GigCraft AI with a focus on a clean interface, a practical freelancer workflow, and a modular structure.

Current technology stack:

React + Vite: Frontend interface and interactive dashboard.

CSS: Layout, styling, cards, navigation, and responsive interface elements.

Python + FastAPI: Backend API for connecting the frontend to application functionality.

HTTP and JSON: Communication between the React frontend and backend.

The dashboard provides navigation for invoices, proposals, client messages, and product listings. I am currently working on connecting the Proposal Writer form to the FastAPI backend so users can submit client details and receive a generated proposal.

AI model and inference: The AI integration is still being developed. I will document the specific open-source model, inference method, and model license here once they are implemented and tested.

Why Does Open Innovation Matter?

Open innovation matters because useful AI-powered tools should not be limited to developers or businesses with large budgets.

Open-source models and frameworks can give independent developers the opportunity to experiment, inspect how systems work, customize workflows, and build tools around real problems.

For a project like GigCraft AI, open innovation could make it easier to explore different models for proposal writing, client communication, and product descriptions while keeping the application flexible.

It also creates an opportunity to learn from the developer community, receive contributions, and improve the project through collaboration.

My goal is to keep building GigCraft AI as a practical project that can grow through experimentation and community feedback.

What I Built

WildLens AI is an AI-powered nature sound exploration project designed to encourage people to step outside, listen carefully to their surroundings, and discover the natural world around them.

Instead of spending all our time looking at screens, we can use technology as a reason to explore parks, gardens, forests, and other outdoor spaces.

With WildLens AI, users can upload an audio recording of their surroundings and get AI-generated sound classifications. The project explores sounds such as birds, insects, frogs, flowing water, wind, and other environmental sounds.

I built this project to make outdoor exploration more interactive and to show how AI can support a stronger connection with nature.

How I Built It

I built WildLens AI using an open-source audio classification model and a web application architecture.

Technologies used:

React and Vite for the frontend.

Python and FastAPI for the backend API.

Hugging Face Transformers to load and run the audio classification model.

LAION-CLAP (laion/clap-htsat-unfused) for zero-shot audio classification.

Librosa, NumPy, and FFmpeg for audio processing and format conversion.

The backend processes uploaded audio, converts it into a suitable format, and sends it to the model for classification. The application then displays the model's top predicted sound labels and their scores.

The project is currently running locally, and audio upload and AI analysis are working. Microphone-recording playback and analysis still need further debugging.

Why Does Open Innovation Matter?

Open innovation makes AI experimentation more accessible to students and independent developers.

Using an openly available model allowed me to explore audio classification, understand how an AI model can be integrated into a real application, and build a working prototype without depending entirely on a closed, proprietary AI API.

It also gave me an opportunity to learn about model inference, audio preprocessing, API integration, and the practical challenges of building AI-powered applications.

For me, open innovation means that developers can learn from existing research, build on available tools, experiment with ideas, and create useful applications that connect technology with real-world experiences.
