Hey fellas and fellies.

Im the creator of sociolite.co. A 1.5 year old startup that teaches social skills. And now I'm going to vent about the weirdness of online society, which is solely the society I've chosen to engage with outside my family and my GF and dog.

I decided I need a place to vent about the insane irritations, frustrations and conundrums that I face day to day in my journey.

I'll sprinkle in some wins too, but no promises.

Now why am I doing this? Cause Im fucking tired of talking to chatGPT and Claude. Its so weird how quickly we normalized talking solely to AIs. Or into video cameras.

I do talk to my GF about stuff but she's in govt and doesn't even use a laptop, so her responses can be gentle and loving but may not always come from a place of relating and may not be useful feedback. That said, she's incredibly supportive and I'm lucky to have her.

Now as for linkedIn...is it just me or does everyone there seem fucking insane? Their stories seem made up and I guarantee they don't believe a word they write. Even the format of what they write is so pretentious.

And more on that note, it seems like the whole culture is incredibly capitalistic. I NEVER see anybody talking about the insane ethical lapses the big tech companies willingly make...just weird motivation posts, to the point that motivation has lost its value.

Now one other avenue I do like presenting thoughts is Instagram. But since Instagram is also a marketing platform, I cant help but either
A. Overly edit the videos to have aesthetic effects and captions or
B. Do none of that but still feel the pressure of how my post and my opinion affects my reach. I love the final product that I make and some of it is really cool, I did the Kumar style reel and everything...but Im tired of choosing fonts and colors and borders in my video when I do enough of that while developing my site.

I want AUTHENTICITY. I want feelings. And I just want to present my thoughts with zero consequences. I don't care if nobody reads or comments on this. I don't want to have to look back and edit stuff and delete heavy files from my phone after because its constantly running out of memory.

An example of something I want to talk about is that I just hired my first intern and junior developer based off of actual interviews. And oh, those were so fun! I asked one of those puzzles the MAANG companies I now despised generally ask, and an algorithmic and a react problem. Earlier in the past, my trusting ass just invited seemingly passionate people on board only to end up all alone, and low key sad nobody wanted to build this awesome exciting tech with me. More on this later.

Another example is the fact that I want to get rid of Google entirely ever since Project Nimbus. The problem is that its pretty fucking hard to live without gmail where I pay for cloud storage, Google drive, google play store for when my app will go to android, Google Chrome for being the browser Ive been using since I was 14 and am now 32...and worst of all, Google search where I want my results to show up.

And I have to address my title of course. Now that I hired two technical people, my job is to be non-technical...while assisting them in becoming mini-mes. Of course, the previous me switched jobs for money at the drop of a hat...so if that happens to me it'll be sad but I'll appreciate the karmic consistency of the situation.

So as you see, there's a lot to talk about. Can a disorganized person typing at 3:30AM after relapsing on coffee build consistency in this habit? How often will I even post? We will never know. But I felt a weight getting lifted off my chest as I typed these words and absolutely gotta give credit to dev.to for making such a fucking awesome platform. I hope the choice pays off.

Stay tuned and support me along the journey fellas.
