Artificial Intelligence: A Helper or a Replacement for Our Thinking?

We ask it to write texts, find ideas, solve problems, and even give advice. It is convenient, fast, and seems harmless. But could our habit of using AI turn into a dependence on ready-made answers?
Gradually, we are trusting it with more and more things we used to handle ourselves: analyzing information, making decisions, and finding solutions to difficult situations. Why think for ourselves when we can get an answer in seconds?
But convenience comes at a price. We risk losing our independence, using our critical thinking skills less often, and no longer trusting our own knowledge. AI is not all-knowing: it can make mistakes, misunderstand context, and confidently provide incorrect answers.
Technology should help us grow, not replace our experience, feelings, or ability to make decisions. AI can point the way, but we are the ones who must walk it.
Perhaps the greatest danger is not that artificial intelligence will one day become smarter than humans, but that humans will one day stop using their own intelligence.

Self-Improvement Has Become Another Job. When Did We Become Our Own Bosses?

We’re so afraid of wasting our lives that we’ve turned even the pursuit of happiness into work.

Simply living is no longer enough — now we have to live mindfully. Resting means recovering the right way. Feeling means analyzing our emotions and learning from them.

Every morning, we wake up knowing we’re supposed to be better than we were yesterday: read a book, work out, learn something new, work through our trauma, set boundaries…

And preferably, all before breakfast.

We’ve become so caught up in the idea of being the best version of ourselves that we’ve unknowingly turned life into an endless project. Even doing nothing makes us feel guilty if it doesn’t serve some purpose.

But when did self-improvement become just another way to demand the impossible of ourselves?

We’ve become our own bosses: setting goals, tracking progress, criticizing ourselves for every mistake. No days off, no vacation. There’s always something to work on, after all.

But a human being isn’t a startup that has to keep growing. We don’t have to become wiser, more productive, and more efficient every single day.

Sometimes, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to stop trying to improve anything. To stop analyzing every emotion, searching for meaning in every action, and turning every weakness into another task to fix.

We’re allowed to simply live. To feel tired, make mistakes, change our plans, watch a TV show instead of reading a self-help book, and not feel like we’re falling behind in our own lives.

Perhaps true self-improvement begins not when we demand more of ourselves, but when we learn to treat ourselves not as a project, but as a human being.
Someone who doesn’t have to prove their worth every single day. Someone who is allowed to pause and have days without achievements. Someone who already deserves a good life — not after becoming the best version of themselves, but right now.

Because life isn’t a draft that needs endless editing. We can start living it today?
