My 14-Day Learning Journey with HackQuest:

** A Deep Dive into Web3**

In the tech world, one needs to be abreast of the new advancements happening in the industry. Therefore, when I enrolled in HackQuest's Co-Learning Camp, I knew it was going to be a very exciting journey. With its #LearnwithHQ and #14DaysOfLearning initiatives, the 14-day program gave me an opportunity to dive deep into the Web3 ecosystem and push my learning limits.

 Day 1-4: Foundation Setup

There had been a good start that begins with the basics, in this case, the more fundamental concepts of Web3 and decentralization. They took the time to take everyone through exploring blockchain into how decentralized networks work: those were foundational days and the power of decentralization is something that I realized appreciates and challenges existing systems, which makes one look at things in greater depth, focusing on things such as transparency and security.

Day 5-8: Introduction to Gaia and Decentralized AI Networks

Days the next couple were spent learning how the Gaia network functions, which was built by getting to know its architecture. The modules in Gaia had been about topics of decentralized AI, large language models, and ways on how AI can be work within a decentralized framework. It is really quite enlightening to see this- really great to be amazed on how AI could actually work by prioritizing privacy with respect to the data yet be powerful results nonetheless.
.

Hands-On: Day 9-11 - Getting to LLMs and Web3 tools

One of the key aspects of the program was that I got to work directly with large language models and learned how to incorporate them with Gaia. I configured WebUI and understood how LLMs can be powered through nodes of Gaia. Reading about Web3 applications is one thing, but working with them is a different story. It was a significant moment when I had these hands-on sessions because I consolidated my knowledge and increased my confidence in using decentralized tools.

Day 12-13: Dify + Gaia Integration

While working on the camp, I learned about Dify and how it relates to Gaia. This section was patient and demanding in terms of attention; however, the results paid off in the end. Dify's functionality and a decentralized backbone in Gaia showed me exactly how scalable decentralized AI applications can be built. In this stage, I realized that Web3 was more than just cryptocurrency or NFTs but could be taken to real-world impactful applications.

Day 14: Reflection on the journey

The last day was spent reviewing all that I had accomplished and learned. Every module had given me an insight, not only in expanding my technical skills but also in how to think going forward in terms of leveraging Web3 projects. My understanding of the decentralized AI ecosystem grew profoundly, and I was armed with practical skills and ideas I can apply in my work.

 Key Takeaways

Empowering Knowledge: HackQuest's approach of foundational concepts followed by hands-on practice was a great way to learn complex topics. Each module built on the previous one, leading to a comprehensive understanding by the end.

Building a Web3 Network: #LearnwithHQ connected me with fellow learners who are keen on Web3, AI, and decentralization. It's amazing to share experiences, insights, and even the challenges that one is undergoing with a group that supports you.

Real-World Applications: I feel enabled to try new projects in Web3, especially decentralized AI, now that I have learned the skills. The camp opened my eyes to the vast potential that these technologies have.

14DaysOfLearning with HackQuest has been a journey of discovery and growth. Going forward, I am really excited about learning and contributing to Web3 and AI. Big thank you for HackQuest for such an immersive and impactful learning experience. Decentralized future; I am loving it.

My 7-Day Journey with HackQuest Co-Learning Camp 10: Exploring the Future of AI and Web3 with Gaia

This has been a thrilling dive into the realms of AI, Web3, and decentralized technology as part of HackQuest's Co-Learning Camp 10. This is an incredibly immersive experience that brings me into the heart of Gaia-an AI-powered platform that transforms large language models into decentralized and blockchain-integrated and much more. So here's what I have so far in knowledge-

Day 1: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models
The path started with a foundational aspect of AI: namely, describing the basic concepts that power the large language models. I explored the mechanics of natural language processing, machine learning algorithms, and training processes of AI systems. This insight into how these models understand and generate human-like text was quite strong, fueling interest in how they might be applied in decentralized systems.

Day 2: The Big Picture on Large Language Model Development Technology
On day two, I more deeply dived into the core technologies enabling large language models-for example, transformers and attention mechanisms. This session demonstrated how these models can process enormous amounts of information, how meaningful data is extracted, and how they provide coherent and contextually appropriate responses. These things were important to understand, as they form the basis for building intelligent agents that could be integrated with Gaia nodes.

Day 3: Gaia Fundamentals
Day three introduced the Gaia platform, which has made decentralized AI development possible in the fact that, in this architecture, AI agents can perform their work with other agents on distributed nodes. I learned about the Gaia architecture about its decentralized AI network in which it is possible to have a community-driven approach to AI; in this session, I especially captured that, with potential Gaia, dependency on central entities could be reduced, and individuals would be able to run their own AI agents on Gaia nodes.

Day 4: The Decentralised AI Network
Gaia was highly inspiring and educative about the learning of its decentralised components. With Gaia's network structure, control and management of AI models are decentralised but with transparency that allows for the fostering of collaboration. My understanding of the peer-to-peer network of Gaia, where nodes interconnect directly and not necessarily with intermediaries, is a secure, transparent environment that respects the privacy of the users. It has nurtured my understanding more about Web3 principles and the decentralised tech stack.

Day 5: Gaia Node Architecture
The fifth day presented an overview about the architecture and operational setup of Gaia nodes. How one can set them up and run these nodes was the major activity in my process-the spine for the implementation of intelligent AI agents. I was armed with how all the components of a Gaia node of network connections, data processability, and storage capacity work in which it allows nodes to be independent yet part of the greater Gaia.

Day 6: Programmation of AI Agents on Gaia
With the basics on board, I explored building AI agents using Gaia nodes. That was an extremely challenging but rewarding exercise. I understood Retrieval-Augmented Generation agents as well as translation agents, which would be vital for the actual development of intelligent AI-driven solutions. The setup of each component was something significant about how to configure the different pieces within, and I set up a frontend to interact with these agents, testing their functionality.

Day 7: Practical Applications and Projects
On the seventh day of the program, I practically applied all the skills that I had learned during hands-on projects including a cryptocurrency market AI assistant. This assistant was a tool that in practical manner would process real-time market data, analyze trends, and respond to queries that needed to be done in natural language. In the meantime, I was trying out how RAG and the translation agents could be used in various use cases by making AI solutions multilingual and dynamically retrieving data.

Takeaways for Week One
What has transpired in the first week, I have learned how much I have grown in understanding not just AI but decentralized technologies as well. I get an incredible space through Co-Learning Camp by HackQuest where we can test out deep learning, experiment, and gain practical knowledge in emerging tech fields. Here are a few key takeaways:

Power of Decentralization in AI: Gaia, in this sense, brings an alternative to that traditional development of AI thereby ensuring a control, privacy, and transparency of a user.

I have had hands-on experience in decentralized infrastructure through configuring and operating Gaia nodes, which has given me an appreciation of the complexities underneath.

Building Intelligent Agents: Through configuration of RAG and translation agents, I learned the basics on how to construct AI-driven solutions that would be able to perform a lot of things at a large scale. These can include real-time data retrieval and translation.

Practical Web3: Amazing how well the underlying principles of the GAIA network showed up in design-from peer-to-peer setup of Gaia nodes to the very applications of intelligent agents in decentralised ecosystems.

This has been a really transformative journey. Can't wait for next week: to explore many dimensions of building AI assistants to set up translation agents. I will definitely retain all the excitement regarding AI and its Web3 counterparts.

Stay tuned as I share further parts of my journey.

 What is Web3 ?

Web3 is a decentralized version of the internet that uses blockchain technology. It aims to give users more control over their data and online interactions, reducing the reliance on central authorities like big tech companies. Key components are Crypto, DeFi, NFTs.
NFTs : NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are unique digital assets authenticated on a blockchain, often used to represent ownership of digital or physical items like art, collectibles, and virtual real estate within the Web3 ecosystem.
Cryptocurrencies : Crypto refers to cryptocurrencies, digital or virtual currencies secured by cryptography, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are foundational to many Web3 applications and transactions.
Metaverse : The metaverse is a collective virtual shared space, often enhanced by virtual and augmented reality, It's where users interact, create, with each other and digital environments, often through avatars, and trade using digital assets and cryptocurrencies.
Web 1.0 website example SpaceJam :- The "Space Jam" website is often cited as a quintessential example of a Web 1.0-era website. Created to promote the 1996 movie "Space Jam" , the website featured basic HTML CSS design, animated GIFs, and a limited amount of interactive content.
It's a nostalgic relic of the early internet, showcasing the simplicity and charm of websites from that era.
What is the point of an NFTs ?
The primary point of NFTs is to provide digital ownership and provenance of unique digital assets. NFTs allow creators to tokenize their work, proving authenticity and enabling direct ownership and transfer of digital items like art, collectibles, and virtual assets on blockchain platforms. They also open up new avenues for creators to monetize their digital creations and for users to engage with and invest in digital content in a secure and decentralized manner.
Roadmap :
• Understand- "why?"
1st we need to understand why do we need blockchain? Do we really need blockchain? Is it helpful? Is it actually going to help people? And if you think that it's actually not needed, don't do it.
• Start with the basics
Now we need to understand, what is blockchain? how does it work? we understand the basics. we understand the how, what's the stack of what's the architecture of a blockchain.
• Dont jump into the code
So we need to do point 1 and 2 and we need to be clear with why we want to be a blockchain developer or a web site developer. we should not do it, because there's a hype around Nfts going on.
• Jump into the code
Now, if we are completely sure that this is what we want to do, now we start developing. Now we start coding.
• Play around with a few verticals
We need to play around with the verticals , fine out what we want to do .
• Choose a vertical and master it.
go for one vertical, not more than one . Stick to one. Select one which we feel is what we are inclined to.
And it's a wrap up !!🚀
I'm immensely grateful for this learning opportunity🤗
Thank You @Varunx10for Introducing me to this 💙
and @hack4bengal Thanks for organizing this amazing session💙

 Project Description:

A soil analysis and crop recommendation system, aims to improve agricultural practices for farmers. It's built on Flask backend framework incorporating advanced technologies for seamless user experience and robust functionality. HTML, JS & CSS power the frontend, ensuring flawless performance and responsiveness across devices. Based on its component-based architecture, we will craft a modular UI facilitating easy navigation, interaction & implementation. On the backend, Flask provides a reliable framework that acts as a strong backbone of our project working along API communication. The key to our website is the integration of Machine Learning algorithms for Soil analysis and Crop suggestion judging parameters mainly based on 4 major soil types i.e. alluvial, black, red, clayey. This functionality is developed using TensorFlow and Keras CNN, enabling speedy and responsive diagnosis directly on the client-side. The soil analysis feature provided by our ML algorithm allows farmers to photograph and upload the picture of soil on their fields and get accurate insight with real-time analysis, minimizing latency. This will enable us to meet our Sustainability Goals and also facilitate the Increase in Agricultural Yield and make the most efficient use of Available & Cultivable lands. The analysis results in personalized crop suggestions, planting techniques and guidelines tailored to the most suitable crops, empowering farmers with the knowledge required to succeed. Our model would be efficient enough to provide the farmers the necessary suggestions thereby eliminating the need to hire a separate consultant, thus mitigating their biased opinions generally in favor of the company paying them commissions, rendering farmers independent.

Current Features:

- Soil Prediction and analysis from a jpg picture.

- Crop Suggestion based on the Soil Prediction.

Planned Updates for future:

Geolocation feature for a better Soil Prediction and analysis.

A weather update feature for better crop suggestions based on the soil type.

Adding a translation feature that’ll translate the text to regional languages for the convenience of the farmer.

Adding hardwares like soil moisture sensor to get accurate data for prediction.

 Submission Track:

Sustainability

Replit Track

Open Innovation

 Overview of My Submission

Our application, Mitti Mentor is a sophisticated soil analysis and crop recommendation system, aims to improve agricultural practices for farmers which would be efficient enough to provide the farmers the necessary suggestions thereby eliminating the need to hire a separate consultant, thus mitigating their biased opinions generally in favor of the company paying them commissions, rendering farmers independent. Also it would lead to efficient use of Cultivable land and increase Agricultural Yield.

This project is a collective effort of our members following the tech stack as provided in the proposal also following the deadline. Since the beginning we aimed for a clean and user-friendly UI and with the collective effort of all the team members, we achieved the desired result in a few days. The next challenge was to build a robust ML model which actually burdened us a lot due to our insufficient experience in the domain. But with the help from our seniors, Youtube, AI and some other open source resources of keras libraries, we successfully implemented it with 98.5% accuracy in the best version . Finally it was the backend which actually we had no prior experience of implementation but finally after a couple of sleepless nights, even the backend fell in line with a Flask framework implementation and finally we’re in possession of a sophisticated system built to serve the needy.

 Tech Stack :

Frontend: HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Backend: Flask framework.

UI/UX: Figma, Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Machine Learning: Tensorflow and Keras CNN.

Services:

Replit & Github for Version control and deployment.

 Figma for UI/UX and prototyping.

Adobe Illustrator for rendering vector images.

 Challenges We Faced :

Implementation of ML & Backend: Significant challenges were faced during the deployment of the model as the allocated RAM in the free version of Replit overflowed due to the tensorflow and Python packages.

Deployment of the Model : Lack of free Space in Repelit due to the lack of funding and free subscription forced us to prototype the project in a free server which curtailed our capabilities a bit

Scalability and competition from existing products in the market : During our surveys, we came across an already established startup ‘fasal’ which worked on similar lines which made us realize that we might lack a bit in R&D and Deployment. However, our future plans include more extensive market & field surveys to enhance the accuracy of our model and provide a better user experience by the use of location, weather and other such effective parameters.

 Public Code Repo:

Github : https://github.com/anipriyo/Mitti-Mentor

We’re running in for the replit track as well alongside others provided above in the order of our choice.

NOTE :
The web-app is dynamic so the deployable link changes each time & since our replit plan is free so we can't keep the project up & running. Therefore no deployment link could be provided.

Model Prediction:
This function accepts the image path and the model as parameters and returns the predicted soil type in the image. We pre-process the image by loading and resizing the image as required, then colour normalizing and expanding dimensions such that it can be fed into the model for prediction.

End-Points:
Defining the paths and functionalities individually thereby creating a dynamic nature of our outputs. The routed function corresponds to different sections of our webpage to the different files that are responsible to render that section.
For example, here the function home is routed to endpoint home and renders the homepage of our website index.html

Soil Prediction:
The POSTed image is downloaded and fed into the loaded model for prediction. The user is then redirected to the predictSoil endpoint with appropriate massage for the predicted soil type

Crop Prediction:
The POSTed image is downloaded and fed into the loaded model for prediction. The user is then redirected to the predictCrop endpoint with appropriate Crop Suggestion for the predicted soil type.

Now, finally we’re in possession of a sophisticated Backend for our webpage.

2. ML Model :

Importing Libraries :

Data Labeling :

Model Architecture :
Sequential Model having 5 Layers. Optimized using Adam, loss handled using Categorical CrossEntropy, on the metric of accuracy.

Model Training :
50 epochs for better accuracy

Model Evaluation :
Accuracy 98.5% and Loss 34.2%

Model Save :

Prediction using Model :
Function of similar structure implemented in backend after loading the model from storage.
