Building My First Startup From Scratch: Why I Started Askors

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm Aeiou, and this is my first post on DEV Community.

Over the past few months, I've been working on something that has completely changed how I think about software development.

Instead of building another side project, I decided to build a real startup.

It's called Askors.

The idea started with a simple observation.

Whenever people want to make a reservation, the process often depends on how each business operates. Some require phone calls. Others use social media. Some ask you to visit their website and complete a form before waiting for confirmation.

I kept asking myself:

Why can't reservations be as simple as sending one message?

That question became the foundation of Askors.

But building a startup has taught me something much bigger than writing code.

I've had to learn about:

Product design

User experience

Talking with businesses

Receiving rejection

Improving based on feedback

Building something people actually want

One thing I've learned so far is that writing code is only one part of building a product.

Understanding users is just as important.

I'll be using this blog to document my journey—from technical challenges to product decisions, mistakes, and everything I learn while building Askors.

Hopefully, someone else who's starting their own project can learn from both my successes and my failures.

Thanks for reading.

I'm excited to become part of the DEV Community.
