AsoBeast is an open-source App Store Optimization (ASO) tool and keyword rank tracker for the Apple App Store and Google Play. You can self-host it with Docker or use the hosted version at asobeast.com. Version 1.16 finds the keywords your app already ranks for and you don't track, shows the keywords competitors win and you don't, and puts everything the daily run noticed on one page.

Key takeaways

A new Discovered tab lists searches your app ranks for, or could rank for, that you don't track yet, with popularity, difficulty and opportunity.

Gap analysis on the competitors page shows the keywords a competitor ranks for and you don't, and which of those you can win now.

The keywords table adds an opportunity map, brand and generic types and highlights for the words your listing already holds.

An Alerts page lists what the daily run detected in the last 30 days, and rating drops, review spikes and delisted apps now raise alerts.

Find the keywords your app already ranks for

Keyword discovery builds a list of candidates from your listing, your competitors' titles, your reviews, Apple's popular searches in your genre and the keywords your other apps track. It then checks where your app stands for each one.

You can track a single keyword, the ones you tick, or every ranked one at once. Dismiss the rest, or switch on Auto-track ranked to have new ones added for you. The list is rebuilt every Monday, using at most 40 App Store or 20 Google Play searches per app, and those searches queue behind the daily run. How keyword discovery works

 See where competitors beat you

The competitors page has a new Gap analysis section with four lists: keywords a competitor ranks for and you don't, gaps you can win now, competitors closing in on you, and keywords where you lead. The visibility card adds share of voice against the competitors you track, with and without brand keywords. Read about gap analysis

What changed in the keywords table

Map places every keyword by popularity and difficulty in four zones. Click a zone to filter the table to it.

Each keyword is marked as your brand, a competitor's brand or generic, and you can correct it from the row menu.

The words your title, subtitle or keyword field already hold are highlighted inside each keyword.

Tick a few keywords and press Show dynamics to chart their positions together.

A keyword that fell out of the results shows where it last ranked, for example
>200 (was #14)
.

Read the keywords table guide

An alerts page and new alerts

The Alerts page in the sidebar lists what the daily run detected over the last 30 days, even if you never set up an alert. New alerts cover a rating that falls by as much as you choose, a day with far more reviews than usual, and an app the store stops listing in one of your markets. See the alerts guide

 How to try AsoBeast 1.16

Self-hosting
takes three commands with the published Docker images:

curl -fsSLO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AsoBeast/asobeast/v1.16.0/docker-compose.pull.yml
docker compose -f docker-compose.pull.yml pull
docker compose -f docker-compose.pull.yml up -d --wait

The quickstart walks you from there to your first imported app. Upgrading from 1.15 runs seven small database migrations on start, so take a backup first. The release notes list every change.

To skip the server, start the hosted version. Its seven-day trial starts once you add a card, and nothing is charged until the trial ends.

 FAQ

 Is AsoBeast free?

The open-source edition is free to self-host under the AGPL-3.0 license. The hosted version at asobeast.com starts at $10 a month after a seven-day trial.

Does AsoBeast track Google Play as well as the App Store?

Yes. Rankings, keyword discovery, competitors and alerts work for both stores, across as many storefronts as you track.

Can I use AsoBeast from Claude, Cursor or another AI assistant?

Yes. AsoBeast ships an MCP server, and 1.16 adds three read tools:
keyword_discoveries
,
alert_events
and
workspace_checklist
.

The code is on GitHub, the docs are at docs.asobeast.com, and questions and ideas are welcome in r/asobeast.
