I Built CodeRef Start – A Productivity Dashboard That Replaces Your Chrome New Tab

Every time we open a new browser tab, we usually see the same default page.

But what if your new tab could become your personal productivity dashboard?

That's the idea behind CodeRef Start, a Chrome extension I've been building to make everyday browsing more productive.

Instead of opening multiple websites for bookmarks, notes, tasks, news feeds, and search, CodeRef Start brings everything together in one customizable start page.

🚀 Try CodeRef Start:

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/coderef-start-new-tab-sta/cgnfgbgfdkjcmglffeonlhjigmfeglkb

What can you do with CodeRef Start?

 1. Your own customizable New Tab

Turn every new tab into a personalized dashboard.

Organize bookmarks into lists or speed-dial tiles.

Create multiple pages for Home, Work, Reading, and more.

Add shortcuts to frequently visited websites.

Import existing Chrome bookmarks.

 2. Search and AI from your New Tab

Search the web or ask your favourite AI assistant without navigating away.

Choose your preferred search engine.

Configure your own search websites.

Connect your favourite AI assistants.

Use the Ctrl/⌘ + K command menu to quickly access links or ask AI.

 3. Productivity Widgets

Keep important information accessible whenever you open a new tab.

To-do lists

Notes

RSS and news feeds

Weather

World clock

Calendar

Countdown timers

 4. Save Tabs and Bookmarks in One Click

Found something useful while browsing?

Save it directly to CodeRef Start.

Save the current page.

Save all open tabs.

Save links using the right-click context menu.

Organize saved links into pages.

Save and restore browser tab sessions.

Search saved links directly from the Chrome address bar.

Copy web pages as Markdown.

 5. A New Tab That Changes With Your Day

CodeRef Start also includes visual customization.

Live sky backgrounds that follow the time of day.

22 landscape photos.

14 colors and gradients.

Upload your own background.

Light and dark modes.

Customizable clock formats.

 6. Built for Teams

CodeRef Start isn't just for individuals.

Team features include:

Shared team pages.

Custom logos and colors.

Team roles.

Announcements.

Link analytics.

Centralized browser configuration through Chrome policies.

 7. Free and Optional PRO

CodeRef Start is free to use, with up to three start pages.

PRO – $24/year

Unlimited start pages.

Additional premium widgets and features.

Team – $29/month

Team workspace for up to 20 people.

 Privacy Matters

CodeRef Start is designed with privacy in mind.

Your most visited websites and uploaded backgrounds stay in your browser. The extension communicates with CodeRef services for the functionality it provides.

 Why I Built This

I wanted something more useful than a blank browser tab.

A place where I could access my frequently used websites, manage bookmarks, track tasks, read feeds, and use AI search without constantly switching between tools.

That idea became CodeRef Start.

 Give It a Try!

I'd love to get feedback from the developer community.

What would you add to a browser start page?

Would you prefer more productivity widgets, AI integrations, or better bookmark management?

Install CodeRef Start:

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/coderef-start-new-tab-sta/cgnfgbgfdkjcmglffeonlhjigmfeglkb

Website: https://coderef.xyz/

Thanks for checking it out! 🚀

CodeRef.xyz: A Developer's Workspace for Cheat Sheets, Tools, Design Systems, and More

As developers, we constantly switch between documentation, online tools, code references, design resources, and browser compatibility websites.

Sometimes we just need a quick reference. Other times, we need a tool to format JSON, test an API, work with regex, or explore a design system.

I wanted to bring these everyday developer resources together in one place.

That's why I'm building CodeRef.xyz — a developer-focused platform designed to make everyday development workflows faster and easier.

 What's new in CodeRef?

CodeRef has grown beyond a simple collection of coding references. Here are some of the key features.

 1. Developer Cheat Sheets and Quick References

Access useful developer references without searching across multiple websites.

Programming cheat sheets

Framework references

Quick syntax guides

Browser compatibility tables

Common development references

The goal is simple: find the information you need and get back to coding.

 2. Developer Tools

CodeRef includes a collection of practical tools for everyday development tasks.

Some of the available tools include:

Markdown editor

Regex tester

JSON tools

API client

Color tools

Code editors

Git playground

These tools are designed to be accessible directly from your browser.

 3. DESIGN.md Library

One of the latest additions is the DESIGN.md Library.

Design systems are important when building modern web applications, especially when working with AI coding assistants.

The library lets you:

Browse design system resources

Search for design styles

Copy DESIGN.md content

Download individual DESIGN.md files

Explore different design approaches

The idea is to make reusable design guidelines easier to discover and use.

 4. Light and Dark Theme Previews

Choosing a design system is easier when you can actually see it.

CodeRef provides design system previews in both light and dark themes.

You can explore:

Color palettes

Typography

Spacing

Visual styles

Light and dark theme variations

This makes it easier to evaluate a design before using it in your project.

 5. AI-Friendly DESIGN.md

DESIGN.md is especially useful when working with AI coding tools.

You can take a design system's Markdown instructions and provide them to an AI coding assistant so it can follow the intended visual direction while generating your application.

Instead of repeatedly explaining colors, typography, spacing, and UI preferences, you can give your AI tool a reusable design reference.

 What's the pricing?

CodeRef follows a simple approach:

Free Plan

Access developer references, cheat sheets, browser compatibility tables, developer tools, and the DESIGN.md library.

The goal is to keep essential developer resources accessible to everyone.

 Who is CodeRef for?

Frontend developers

Backend developers

Full-stack developers

UI/UX designers

Indie hackers

Startup founders

Developers building applications with AI coding assistants

Whether you're learning a new framework, testing an API, or choosing a design system, CodeRef aims to be a useful part of your development workflow.

 What's next?

I'm continuing to improve CodeRef and working on making it a more useful destination for developers.

I'd love to hear from the developer community:

What developer tools would you like to see added?

What kind of design systems should be included in the DESIGN.md library?

What features would make CodeRef more useful in your daily workflow?

Your feedback will help shape what comes next.

Explore CodeRef: https://coderef.xyz/

If you find it useful, give it a try and share your feedback!

Thanks for reading! 🚀

CodeRef.xyz: One Place for Code Examples, API References, CLI Commands, and Developer Tools

As developers, we constantly switch between documentation websites, GitHub repositories, tutorials, and search engines to find answers to everyday programming questions.

Sometimes, we need a complete tutorial. Other times, we just need a code example, a CLI command, a syntax reference, or a quick reminder about an API.

What if finding those references could be simpler?

That's the idea behind CodeRef.xyz — a developer reference platform designed to bring useful coding resources together in one place.

 Why I Started Building CodeRef

Modern software development involves working with multiple programming languages, frameworks, databases, APIs, and development tools.

A typical development workflow might involve:

Searching for a JavaScript code example.

Checking React hooks syntax.

Looking up a Next.js routing pattern.

Finding a command-line instruction.

Reviewing a database query.

Exploring an API integration.

Switching between documentation pages to understand an implementation.

Each search might take only a few minutes, but these interruptions add up throughout the day.

The goal of CodeRef is to make common developer references easier to discover, helping developers spend less time searching and more time building.

What Can You Find on CodeRef?

CodeRef is designed around several categories of developer resources.

 1. Code Examples

Practical examples can make programming concepts easier to understand and apply.

Code examples are useful when you want to understand a particular syntax pattern, see how an implementation works, or get a starting point for your own code.

The vision is to make everyday coding examples easier to find without having to navigate through lengthy tutorials for every small question.

 2. Programming Language References

Working across multiple programming languages means remembering different syntax rules, methods, and conventions.

A developer reference platform can help make these details easier to look up.

Whether you're switching between JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or other languages, having organized references can make your workflow more convenient.

 3. Framework References

Modern development depends heavily on frameworks and libraries.

Developers regularly work with technologies such as React, Next.js, Express.js, and other tools across the frontend and backend ecosystem.

CodeRef aims to organize useful framework-related references, examples, and common patterns so developers can find relevant information more easily.

 4. API References and Integrations

APIs are an essential part of modern applications, from authentication and payments to communication services and data integrations.

When integrating an API, developers often need to check request formats, parameters, response structures, and implementation examples.

A well-organized reference can help reduce the effort required to find the information needed during development.

 5. CLI Commands

Command-line tools are part of everyday software development.

Whether you're running development servers, managing packages, building applications, or deploying projects, remembering every command isn't realistic.

A dedicated CLI reference category can make frequently needed commands easier to find when you need them.

As always, review commands before running them, particularly those that modify files, delete resources, or change production infrastructure.

 6. Database References

Database work involves queries, operators, aggregation pipelines, schema definitions, and other database-specific concepts.

Developers working with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other database systems often need quick access to examples and syntax references.

CodeRef aims to make these resources easier to discover as part of a broader developer reference experience.

 7. Cheat Sheets

Sometimes, you don't need a complete guide. You need a concise reference.

Cheat sheets are useful for revisiting commonly used syntax, commands, shortcuts, and technical concepts without starting from the beginning.

They can be particularly helpful when learning a new technology or returning to something you haven't used recently.

 8. Developer Tools and DevOps Resources

Development doesn't stop at writing code.

Developers also work with Git, deployment workflows, debugging tools, build systems, and infrastructure.

Bringing relevant tools and references into a single discovery experience can make it easier to find resources for different stages of the development lifecycle.

 Who Is CodeRef For?

CodeRef is intended for developers at different stages of their journey.

Beginners can use developer references as a starting point while learning programming concepts.

Frontend developers can look for examples and references related to JavaScript, React, CSS, and modern web frameworks.

Backend developers can explore API, database, server-side programming, and command-line resources.

Full-stack developers can use organized references while switching between frontend, backend, and infrastructure tasks.

Experienced engineers can use quick references to revisit syntax and implementation patterns without interrupting their workflow too much.

CodeRef Is Not About Replacing Official Documentation

Official documentation remains the most important source for authoritative technical information.

CodeRef's goal is to complement that ecosystem by making useful references easier to discover.

For version-specific APIs, breaking changes, security-sensitive implementations, and production commands, developers should verify examples against the official documentation for the technology and version they are using.

The long-term vision is to make finding the right reference faster, clearer, and more convenient.

 The Vision for CodeRef

Developer tools should help us focus on solving problems rather than repeatedly searching for the same information.

With CodeRef, the vision is to create a useful destination for discovering:

Programming examples and syntax references.

Framework and library resources.

API documentation and integration examples.

CLI commands and database queries.

Cheat sheets and developer tools.

Resources across the modern development ecosystem.

The focus is simple: make everyday developer knowledge easier to find and use.

 Explore CodeRef

If you're a developer, I'd love for you to check it out.

Visit: https://coderef.xyz/

I'm also interested in feedback from the developer community.

A question for developers:

When you're coding, what do you search for most often — code examples, API documentation, CLI commands, database queries, or framework-specific solutions?

And what would make a developer reference platform genuinely useful in your daily workflow?

Share your thoughts in the comments. Your feedback can help shape what comes next.

Introducing CodeRef.xyz: A Better Way to Find Developer References 🚀

As developers, we constantly search for code examples, programming syntax, API documentation, CLI commands, and useful development resources. Sometimes, finding one simple answer means opening multiple tabs and switching between different websites.

That's the problem CodeRef.xyz aims to solve.

🌐 Website: https://coderef.xyz/

 What is CodeRef?

CodeRef is a developer reference platform built to make everyday programming lookups easier. The idea is to give developers a convenient place to find coding references and resources without wasting unnecessary time searching.

Whether you're building a frontend application, working on a backend API, or exploring a new technology, quick access to the right information can make your workflow smoother.

 What can developers find?

CodeRef aims to bring useful developer resources together, including:

Code Examples: Find examples that help you understand programming concepts and implementation patterns.

Programming References: Look up syntax and commonly used coding techniques.

API References: Find useful information when working with APIs and integrations.

CLI Commands: Quickly reference commands used in development workflows.

Cheat Sheets: Keep important technical information accessible.

Developer Resources: Discover references that help with everyday coding tasks.

 Why build another developer resource?

There are already many excellent documentation websites and developer tools. CodeRef isn't about replacing them. It's about making common references easier to discover and access.

When you're in the middle of development, you don't always need a lengthy tutorial. Sometimes, you just need a quick example, a command, or a reminder of the correct syntax.

That's the experience we're working toward with CodeRef.

 Who is CodeRef for?

CodeRef is intended for:

Frontend developers working with modern web technologies.

Backend developers building APIs and server-side applications.

Full-stack developers switching between different technologies.

Students and beginners learning programming.

Experienced engineers who need quick technical references.

 Explore CodeRef

If you're a developer, check out the platform and share your feedback.

👉 Visit: https://coderef.xyz/

We're interested in hearing from the developer community.

What's your biggest frustration when searching for code examples or programming references? What features would make a developer reference platform more useful to you?

Share your thoughts in the comments!

CodeRef.xyz: A Better Way to Find Code References and Syntax Examples

As developers, we regularly search for code examples, syntax references, API usage, and programming documentation. Sometimes, finding the exact reference we need takes longer than actually writing the code.

You might search through documentation, browse GitHub repositories, revisit old projects, or open multiple websites just to find a small syntax example.

That got me thinking: What if developers had a simple place to look up code references and useful programming resources?

 Introducing CodeRef.xyz

CodeRef.xyz is a project I'm working on with the idea of making code references easier to discover and access.

The goal is simple: help developers spend less time searching and more time building.

A developer reference platform can bring useful programming information together, making it easier to look up syntax, explore code snippets, and find relevant resources while working on a project.

 Why Code References Matter

Whether you're a beginner learning a new language or an experienced developer switching between technologies, you probably encounter questions like:

What's the correct syntax for this operation?

How do I use a particular function or API?

What's the simplest example of this programming pattern?

Where can I find a useful reference without navigating several pages?

These are small questions, but they interrupt the development workflow when answers are difficult to find.

Good developer tools should make these everyday tasks easier.

What Could a Useful Code Reference Platform Include?

Here are some areas I'm exploring for CodeRef.xyz:

1. Programming language references

Quick access to commonly used syntax and language features across popular programming languages.

2. Code snippets and examples

Practical examples that developers can read, understand, and adapt to their own projects.

3. Developer tool references

A central place to discover useful APIs, libraries, utilities, and programming resources.

4. Searchable technical information

A straightforward search experience that helps developers find the information they need without unnecessary complexity.

5. A developer-friendly experience

Fast navigation, readable examples, and a simple interface that prioritizes usefulness over clutter.

These are potential directions for the platform, and the focus is on building something genuinely useful for everyday development.

Built for Developers Who Like to Keep Things Simple

I enjoy building tools that solve practical problems for developers. The best developer tools don't always need complicated interfaces or dozens of features. Sometimes, a well-organized reference and a good search experience are enough to make a difference.

With CodeRef.xyz, I want to explore that idea and create a resource that developers can return to whenever they need a quick reference.

 I'd Love Your Feedback

I'm interested in hearing from developers about their everyday workflows.

Which programming languages do you look up most often?

Do you prefer concise syntax references or detailed explanations with examples?

What makes a developer reference website genuinely useful to you?

What features would you want in a tool like CodeRef.xyz?

If you have suggestions or ideas, share them in the comments. I'd love to learn what would make this project more useful to the developer community.

Explore the project: https://coderef.xyz

Thanks for reading!

Building RevMRR: Making Startup Revenue and Acquisition More Transparent

Building a startup is hard. Finding the right startup to buy can be even harder.

When founders want to sell a SaaS product or when buyers want to acquire an online business, they often face the same problems: limited information, unclear revenue figures, fragmented marketplaces, and a lack of trust between buyers and sellers.

That is the problem I'm working on with RevMRR.

 What is RevMRR?

RevMRR is a startup revenue intelligence and discovery platform designed to help people discover startups, explore business metrics, and find online businesses with acquisition potential.

The goal is simple: make it easier to discover startups and understand the businesses behind them.

Why startup discovery needs to improve

Today, startup information is spread across company websites, directories, social media, founder profiles, and acquisition marketplaces.

Finding a promising company can mean manually checking multiple sources and trying to understand whether the business is growing, what it does, and whether it might be a good acquisition opportunity.

I believe startup discovery can be more useful when company information, revenue insights, and acquisition opportunities are brought closer together.

 What we're building

RevMRR focuses on several areas:

Startup discovery: Explore companies and online businesses in one place.

Revenue intelligence: Discover available MRR, ARR, and business growth information, with verification status where supported.

Company profiles: Understand what a startup does and explore its available business information.

Advanced search: Find relevant companies using more targeted filters.

Startup acquisition: Help buyers and sellers connect around online businesses and SaaS products.

Revenue transparency is an important part of the vision. Revenue figures should be presented responsibly, with clear distinctions between reported information and independently verified data.

 The technical challenge

Building a useful startup database involves more than collecting company names and displaying them in a directory.

The platform needs to organize information from different sources, keep company profiles searchable, handle changing business metrics, and make discovery fast as the database grows.

Search quality, data consistency, and trust are just as important as the user interface.

Another challenge is helping buyers make informed decisions without suggesting that every publicly displayed metric has been independently verified.

These are some of the problems we're working to solve as RevMRR evolves.

 Who is RevMRR for?

RevMRR is being built for:

Founders exploring the startup ecosystem.

Indie hackers looking for interesting online businesses.

Entrepreneurs considering acquiring a SaaS product.

Buyers researching potential acquisition opportunities.

People interested in startup revenue trends and business discovery.

 What's next?

The long-term vision is to make RevMRR a useful place to discover startups, understand their business performance, and explore opportunities to buy or sell online businesses.

We're continuing to develop the platform and improve the experience around startup discovery, search, revenue information, and acquisitions.

Building this is an ongoing process, and feedback from founders, developers, and indie hackers is valuable.

Explore RevMRR: https://revmrr.com/

If you're building a SaaS product or have experience buying or selling online businesses, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

What information would make you trust a startup listing enough to consider acquiring it?

Hey everyone 👋
I'm Anwaarul Haque, a Technical Lead and the creator of the Utho Community Plugins — a growing collection of open-source tools designed to make cloud development faster, safer, and developer-friendly.

Today, I’m excited to introduce one of our latest releases:

@utho-community/object-storage

A lightweight Node.js package that simplifies working with object storage services like AWS S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, and others — all through a unified API.

🌩️ Why I Built It

Every time I built a SaaS or infrastructure-based project, I found myself re-writing the same boilerplate for uploading, downloading, and deleting files from cloud storage.
Each provider has slightly different SDKs, configs, and quirks — and switching from AWS to another provider meant updating code everywhere.

So I built @utho-community/object-storage to solve this problem once and for all.
It abstracts away the provider complexity, giving developers a single, simple interface for managing files.

⚙️ Installation

You can install it directly from npm:

npm install @utho-community/object-storage

or with yarn:

yarn add @utho-community/object-storage

🚀 Quick Start Example

Here’s how easy it is to upload and retrieve a file using this package:

import { UthoObjectStorage } from '@utho-community/object-storage';

// Create client with Bearer token
const client = new UthoObjectStorage({
token: 'your-bearer-token' // Get from Utho dashboard
});

// Upload a file
const fileContent = Buffer.from('Hello, World!', 'utf-8');
await client.uploadFile('innoida', 'my-bucket', fileContent, 'hello.txt');

// Upload file to a folder
await client.uploadFile('innoida', 'my-bucket', fileContent, 'documents/hello.txt');

No need to learn each provider’s unique SDK — the same code works for AWS, DO Spaces, Wasabi, and more (with simple config tweaks).

🧩 Key Features

✅ Unified API – Works across AWS, DigitalOcean Spaces, and compatible S3 systems
✅ Secure Configuration – Environment-safe setup (no hardcoded secrets)
✅ Lightweight & Fast – Zero unnecessary dependencies
✅ Async Support – Fully promise-based
✅ Easily Extendable – Add your custom storage provider with minimal code

🧠 Real-World Use Case

Let’s say you’re building a SaaS app or eCommerce platform and you want to:

Upload user profile photos

Store invoices or receipts

Save marketing images or documents

With this library, you can set up your entire storage system in under 5 minutes, regardless of your backend framework (Express, Nest.js, or Serverless Functions).

🏗️ Project Vision: The Utho Community Ecosystem

@utho-community/object-storage is part of the Utho Community Plugin Suite, an open-source ecosystem I’m building to accelerate SaaS and cloud development.

The goal is to create a reliable, developer-first toolkit for building scalable platforms — faster.

💪 Built for Developers, by a Developer

I designed this package with a strong focus on developer productivity and clarity.
You don’t need to be an AWS expert — just configure once and ship faster.

If you find this helpful, I’d love your support:

⭐ Star the repo on GitHub

🧩 Contribute ideas or improvements

💬 Share feedback in the comments below

🔗 Links

📦 NPM: @utho-community/object-storage

💻 GitHub: https://github.com/utho-community/object-storage

❤️ Closing Thoughts

This is just the beginning of the Utho Community Plugin series.
I’m currently building a full ecosystem for developers who want simplicity and performance without vendor lock-in.

If you’re a developer working with Node.js or SaaS infrastructure, I’d love for you to try this package, give feedback, or even join the Utho open-source journey 🚀
