I built a HUD for running many Claude Code sessions on a Mac

I run several Claude Code sessions at once, often with subagents, and I kept losing track of which one was working, which one was waiting for me and which one wanted approval. So I built a native Mac app around them: Atalay's Terminal.

 What it does

Every Claude Code session sits on a live orbit map, coloured by state: working, waiting for you, asking for approval.

Subagents, tool calls, the files they touch, web research, tokens and spend update as they happen.

Each chat has its own window, but the session lives in the background: close the window or quit the app and Claude keeps working. The window comes back with its history.

Dev servers and test watchers fly around the orbit as cars and park when they're idle.

Friends, messages, and XP for the time you actively work, from Academy Student up to Kage, with a weekly leaderboard.

 How it's built

Swift (SwiftPM) and AppKit, with SwiftTerm for the terminals.

Every chat and terminal runs in a detached
/usr/bin/screen
session, which is why they survive the app quitting.

The dashboard is a web page in a
WKWebView
; the orbit map is three.js.

It reads Claude Code's own files in
~/.claude
, read only. None of it leaves your Mac; the README lists exactly what the small server behind friends and levels receives.

 Try it

Free and open source (MIT), macOS 13+, Apple Silicon and Intel.

Download: https://github.com/atalaykarahan/atalay-terminal-releases

Source: https://github.com/atalaykarahan/atalay-terminal

I'd love your feedback, especially if you run a lot of sessions in parallel. If you try it, add me as a friend: click the logo at the top left, then FRIENDS, then
owen watts#8049
.
