Turn a Local SQLite Database into AI-Ready Context Files

When an AI coding session needs a small slice of a local database, copying rows by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. A safer pattern is to export only the table you need, inspect the result, and then decide what is appropriate to share.

 The small utility

The SQLite AI Context Exporter is a dependency-free Python script that reads a database in read-only mode and writes JSON or CSV files.

python export_sqlite.py .\app.db --list-tables
python export_sqlite.py .\app.db --table notes --format json --output .\export

The exporter does not modify the source database. It creates one output file per selected table and supports a row limit for quick inspection.

 Why review matters

An export can contain passwords, tokens, private messages, or personal information. Treat the output as sensitive data. Review it before sharing it with any AI service, and export only the smallest useful table or row set.

 Try it locally

The free Lite build is a small, dependency-free script. It is designed for local development and inspection rather than public production use.

The useful question for early testers is: What is the most annoying step between your local database and the AI tool you use for development?

Feedback will determine whether the next version should add column selection, redaction helpers, schema summaries, or another database format.
