I spent way too much time redesigning the Ice Theme website

I've been working on Ice Theme for almost two years now.

It started as a small VS Code theme, and somehow turned into one of those projects I keep coming back to.

The theme has changed quite a bit over the years.

The website, not so much.

A lot of the initial traction actually came from Reddit. I shared Ice Theme there, and the response was much better than I expected.

People tried it, gave me feedback, shared it with others, and some even told me they had been using it for months.

That honestly meant a lot to me.

There's something pretty cool about making something by yourself, putting it on the internet, and then seeing people you've never met actually use it.

It also made me want to keep improving the theme.

The website started to feel behind

The website worked, but every time I looked at it, I felt like it didn't really represent the project anymore.

So I finally decided to redesign it.

I wanted the new site to feel like Ice Theme itself.

Calm, minimal, and something you could spend a little time looking at without feeling overwhelmed.

I didn't want to turn it into another flashy developer landing page. I mostly wanted to give the theme some room to breathe and let the product speak for itself.

Of course, that somehow turned into spending way too many hours tweaking things that most people will probably never notice.

The spacing was off.

The colors weren't quite right.

Then I'd notice something else.

You know how it goes.

But that's also what I enjoy about building things.

Sometimes the difference between "this is fine" and "I actually like this" is a ridiculous number of small decisions.

It finally feels like Ice Theme

After almost two years of working on Ice Theme, I'm pretty happy that the website finally feels like it belongs to the project.

The new site is live:

Ice Theme

If you've been working on a side project for a while, I'd love to see it too.

Drop it below.

Serenity UI is a collection of ready-to-use components designed to help you quickly build modern and visually stunning web interfaces. Built with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion, it offers flexibility, ease of use, and stunning animations.

 Why Use Serenity UI?

Modern Design: Create sleek, up-to-date web pages with a polished look.

Tailwind CSS: Easily customize components with utility classes.

Framer Motion Animations: Add smooth, attractive animations effortlessly.

TypeScript Support: Better productivity with type safety.

Reusable Components: Use pre-built components like buttons, forms, and carousels.

Customizable: Easily adjust styles to fit your brand or design.

Dark Mode: Built-in support for both light and dark themes.

Developer Friendly: Quick to install, simple to use, and optimized for performance.

 How to Get Started

 1. Install Serenity UI

To install Serenity UI in your project, run the following command:

npx @ayushmxxn/serenity-ui@latest init

 2. Add Components

To add components to your project, simply use the command:

npx @ayushmxxn/serenity-ui@latest add [component-name]
