      <title>From Manual QA to API Testing: Postman Collections That Mirror Real Test Strategy</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Manual QA folks often get “learn Postman” without a map. Clicking Send is not a strategy.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A simple ladder:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Smoke the contract&lt;/strong&gt; — status codes + critical fields for happy path.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Negative cases that matter&lt;/strong&gt; — auth missing, bad IDs, empty required fields.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Environments as data&lt;/strong&gt; — base URL, tokens, IDs stay out of hard-coded requests.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Assertions that protect the business&lt;/strong&gt; — not “response exists,” but “status is one of …”.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;A thin suite you can re-run&lt;/strong&gt; — folder = risk area; name tests like a bug title.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
