      <description>&lt;p&gt;Our results suggest that this spheroid-entrapping alginate hybrid structure could represent a new platform for stem cell therapy using spheroid transplantation.Transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers such as MoS2, MoSe2, MoTe2, WS2 and WSe2 have attracted significant interest due to their remarkable electronic and optical properties, exhibiting a direct band gap, enabling usability in electronics and optics. Their properties can be altered further by the introduction of lattice defects. In this work, the dynamics of the formation of electron-beam-induced lattice defects in monolayer WSe2 are investigated by in-situ spherical and chromatic aberration-corrected low-voltage transmission electron microscopy. We show and analyze the electron-dose-limited life of a monolayer WSe2 from the formation of isolated Se vacancies over extended defects such as vacancy lines, mirror twin boundaries (MTBs) and inversion domains towards the loss of W atoms leading to the formation of holes and finally the destruction of the monolayer. We identify, moreover, a new type of MTB. Our study extends the basic understanding of defect dynamics in monolayer WSe2, sheds further light on the electron radiation response and suggests new ways for engineering the in-plane architecture of TMDs.This paper studies the convective heat transfer and flow resistance of Fe3O4/deionized water nanofluids in laminar flow under the control of an external magnetic field. The basic thermophysical parameters including viscosity, specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity are investigated to describe the fundamental performance of heat transfer and flow resistance. In the absence of the magnetic field, the heat transfer coefficients and flow friction could not change significantly at nanoparticle volume concentration of 0.05%. In the presence of the magnetic field, it can enhance heat transfer and flow resistance by 6% and 3.5% when the magnets interlace on both sides of the tube. The dynamic magnetic experiments discussed the heat transfer increase process in detail. The radial shuttle movement of magnetic nanoparticles in the cross-section, micro convection in base fluid and the slip velocity between the nanoparticles and the base fluid are considered the main reasons for heat transfer enhancement.In this paper we report a set of experiments at the wafer level regarding field-effect transistors with a graphene monolayer channel transferred on the ferroelectric HfO2/Ge-HfO2/HfO2 three-layer structure. This kind of transistor has a switching ratio of 103 between on and off states due to the bandgap in graphene induced by the ferroelectric structure. Both top and back gates effectively control the carriers' charge flow in graphene. The transistor acts as a three-terminal memristor, termed a memtransistor, with applications in neuromorphic computation.This paper elucidates the feasibility of magnetic drug targeting to the eye by using magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) to which pharmaceutical drugs can be linked. Numerical simulations revealed that a magnetic field gradient of 20 T m-1 seems to be promising for dragging magnetic multicore nanoparticles of about 50 nm into the eye. Thus, a targeting magnet system made of superconducting magnets with a magnetic field gradient at the eye of about 20 T m-1 was simulated. For the proof-of-concept tissue experiments presented here the required magnetic field gradient of 20 T m-1 was realized by a permanent magnet array. MNPs with an optimized multicore structure were selected for this application by evaluating their stability against agglomeration of MNPs with different coatings in water for injections, physiological sodium chloride solution and biological media such as artificial tear fluid. From these investigations, starch turned out to be the most promising coating material because of its stability in saline fluids due to its steric stabilization mechanism. To evaluate the passage of MNPs through the sclera and cornea of the eye tissues of domestic pigs (Sus scrofa domesticus), a three-dimensionally printed setup consisting of two chambers (reservoir and target chamber) separated by the eye tissue was developed. With the permanent magnet array emulating the magnetic field gradient of the superconducting setup, experiments on magnetically driven transport of the MNPs from the reservoir chamber into the target chamber via the tissue were performed. The resulting concentration of MNPs in the target chamber was determined by means of quantitative magnetic particle spectroscopy. It was found that none of the tested particles passed the cornea, but starch-coated particles could pass the sclera at a rate of about 5 ng mm-2 within 24 h. These results open the door for future magnetic drug targeting to the eye.Infections with multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria including carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae are emerging worldwide but are difficult to treat with the currently available antibiotic compounds and therefore constitute serious threats to human health. This prompted us to perform a literature survey applying the MEDLINE database and Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials including clinical trials comparing different treatment regimens for infections caused by carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae. Our survey revealed that a combined application of antibiotic compounds such as meropenem plus vaborbactam, meropenem plus colistin and carbapenem plus carbapenem, resulted in significantly increased clinical cure and decreased mortality rates as compared to respective control treatment. However, further research on novel antibiotic compounds, but also on antibiotic-independent molecules providing synergistic or at least resistance-modifying properties needs to be undertaken in vitro as well as in large clinical trials to provide future options in the combat of emerging life-threatening infections caused by MDR bacteria.Exposure to extremely low frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) and electric shocks occurs in many workplaces and occupations but it is unclear whether any of these exposures cause Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to explore whether occupational exposure to ELF-MF and/or electric shocks are risk factor for ALS. We searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases up to the end of 2019. Pooled risk estimates were calculated using random-effects meta-analysis including exploration of the sources of heterogeneity between studies and publication bias. Twenty-seven publications fulfilled the inclusion criteria. We found a weak, significant, association between occupational exposure to ELF-MF and the risk of ALS (RRPooled estimate 1.20; 95%CI 1.05, 1.38) with moderate to high heterogeneity (I2=66.3%) and indication of publication bias (PEgger's test=0.03). When guided by ultrasonography, the accuracy can be markedly improved. Molecular markers once widely available can improve the diagnostic power of FNAC to be no less than the histopathologic evaluation of thyroid tissue. &lt;br&gt;

 To elucidate the risk factors for hospital admission among COVID-19 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This retrospective study was conducted at the Prince Sultan Military Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia between May 2020 and July 2020. Out of 7,260 COVID-19 patients, 920 were identified as T2DM. After the exclusion process, 806 patients with T2DM were included in this analysis. Patients' data were extracted from electronic medical records. selleck products A logisticregression model was performed to estimate the risk factors of hospital admission.Results Of the total of 806 COVID-19 patients with T2DM, 48% were admitted in the hospital, 52% were placed under home isolation. Older age between 70-79 years (OR [odd ratio] 2.56; p=0.017), ≥80 years (OR 6.48; p=0.001) were significantly more likely to be hospitalized compared to less than 40 years. Similarly, patients with higher HbA1c level of ≥9% compared to less than 7%; (OR 1.58; p=0.047); patients with comorbidities such as, hypertension (OR 1.43; p=0.048), cardiovascular disease (OR 1.56; p=0.033), cerebrovascular disease (OR 2.38; p=0.016), chronic pulmonary disease (OR 1.51; p=0.018), malignancy (OR 2.45; p=0.025), chronic kidney disease (CKD) IIIa, IIIb, IV (OR 2.37; p=0.008), CKD V (OR 5.07; p=0.007) were significantly more likely to be hospitalized.  To determine the current pattern of using angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) in diabetic nephropathy (DN), and assess physician awareness of using vitamin D in the prevention and treatment of DN. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A cross-sectional study implementing a validated questionnaire, which was distributed to physicians in the aforementioned specialties in 3 hospitals in Saudi Arabia (Almanee Hospital, King Saud Medical City [KSMC], and Riyadh Care Hospital [RCH]) between April 2019 and November 2019. We used IBM SPSS 26.0 to perform descriptive statistical analyses and comparisons were based on the Chi-square test. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A prospective cross-sectional study conducted at 4 dialysis centers in Qassim, Saudi Arabia with inclusion of 237 patients' undergoing hemodialysis between November 2018 to January 2019. The study involved interviewing the patients, reviewing theirmedical records for biomarkers used to assess kidney function, and assessing the patients' knowledge-based regarding dietary phosphate control, as well as adherence to phosphate binders' usage.Results Out of 237 included patients, male to female ratio was 5446. The prevalence of prescribing non- calcium phosphate binders was 82.7% whereas prescribing calcium phosphate binders was 73.8%. A total of 63% of patients showed a medium level of adherence to phosphate binders. Although adherence level was not poor, therapeutic eficacy was affected by other factors such as administration time adherence positively correlated with the serum phosphate level (p=0.00). &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;An institutional radiology database was queried for inpatients diagnosed with OLTs with subchondral cysts who had undergone surgical treatment between May 2015 and October 2019. A total of 48 patients met the inclusion criteria. Based on our measurement method, 2 experienced observers who were blinded to the study independently measured the length, width, and depth of the cysts using MRI and CT. The classification of cystic lesions was also performed based on MRI and CT findings. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Interobserver reliability was almost perfect, with intraclass cowas well-correlated with the CT classification. The presented measurement method and classification systems could provide more accurate information before surgery. &lt;br&gt;

Cystic degeneration in CFD cases is rare; cystic degeneration appearing in both the maxilla and the mandible FD lesion is even rarer. The aim of this article was to report a case of fibrous dysplasia of the mandible and maxilla complicated by nonspecific cystic degeneration. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A 30-year-old woman presented with a rare case of non-specific cystic degeneration in a mandible and maxilla FD lesion that occurred 11 years after surgery. She was diagnosed with polyostotic CFD and underwent maxillary and mandibular bone contouring. Cyst enucleation under general anesthesia was performed in the mandibular region due to pain and discomfort. &lt;/p&gt;

We present a case of software engineer who has sustained an injury while pursuing his passion of bike driving on a weekend holiday. He sustained a crush injury to fingers of dominant right-hand index and middle finger. We had a comprehensive preoperative and postoperative plan and executed the plan well so that he could go back to his occupation of software engineer where he has to use his fingers over keyboard and mouse so that he can earn his livelihood. Treating an injury has to include patient's occupation, his passion,his needs and demands. Crux of any management must include patient demands rather than surgeon's passion of doing a fancy procedure. &lt;br&gt;
 Musculoskeletal disorders are the group of disorders which affects the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, peripheral nerves and supporting blood vessels in the body. Sewing machine involves continuous, repetitive tasks like cutting, assembly, pressing and finishing. These works are performed in a sitting posture with upper back curved forwards and the head is bent towards the sewing machine. Working in this faulty posture for a long time increases the chance of developing work related musculoskeletal disorder among them. The objective of study is prevalence of musculoskeletal complaints among sewing machine workers in leather industry. &lt;/p&gt;
