From Confusion to Clarity: How I Started Building My Tech Empire With Zero Experience

I didn’t grow up surrounded by laptops, codes, or tech wizards. I wasn’t born into a programming culture. In fact, I started with absolutely no idea how to build anything online.

But today, I’m writing this as someone who has begun a journey to build a tech brand from scratch — learning to code, understanding cybersecurity, blogging about tech, and slowly building a presence online. And if I can do it, you can too.

🧩 The Turning Point

I remember sitting in my room, overwhelmed by blog posts, YouTube tutorials, and tech jargon. I had questions like:

Where do I even start?
Am I too late to enter tech?
Can someone like me build something that matters?

Then came the answer that changed my mindset:

“You don’t need clarity to start. You gain clarity as you move.”

So I started.

🔧 What I Did First

I created a blog. (Even though it looked basic.)
I joined DEV Community. (To be inspired and seen.)
I picked a path: Cybersecurity + Blogging + Tech Tools
I chose a tool: ConvertKit for email growth (so I could start collecting subscribers)
I posted my first article. (That’s how you found me.)

🚀 What I’m Building Now

Right now, I’m building a digital foundation:

A growing blog
A ConvertKit email list for fans and learners
Skills in cybersecurity, web dev, and digital products

I’m not where I want to be yet — but I’m not where I used to be either.

Start messy. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
Build in public. Share your process, your struggles, and your progress.
Use free tools. DEV, ConvertKit, GitHub, and YouTube are your friends.
Stay consistent. One article a week is enough to create momentum.

Hey everyone

My name is Godfrey, but you can call me BGOD.

I’m a 19-year-old Nigerian with a big dream — to rise from nothing, learn powerful tech skills, and build a future filled with purpose, impact, and financial freedom.

Right now, I don’t have much — not even a laptop yet — but I have vision, hunger, and faith. I created this account to document my journey from zero to pro, learning software development and cybersecurity step-by-step, using just my phone.
