This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge: Build for a Friend

 What I Built

I built Recall, a small study buddy for my friend, who is studying Computer Science.
I wanted to give them a way to practise explaining their notes, one
question at a time.

They share study material directly in a chat. Recall asks a question and waits for an attempt. Its teaching encourage it to give a hint when an answer needs work and move forward when the learner understands. They can ask for an explanation, skip a question, or stop for a short recap.

 Demo

Watch the Recall video demo : https://youtu.be/CQ_8O1ii0Sg

 Code

Github Link : https://github.com/bhuvandhiman/study-guide

 How I Built It

I am a beginner, and I wanted to build something small and use on my laptop without running a model locally.

Recall uses Gemma. The current model is accessed through the [Gemini API]. Gemma generates the questions, feedback, hints, and recaps.
I changed its teaching through prompts, not fine-tuning.

The main design rules are to wait for study material, ask at most one question per message, and encourage more attempts before revealing an answer.

 Why Does Open Innovation Matter?

Gemma's open weights give this project a direction beyond the API. In a future version, I could use a local Gemma model and explore fine-tuning which i cant do otherwise.

 Prize Categories

Best Use of Gemma — Gemma powers the question-asking learning conversation.
