10 strongest reasons

Strong point Why an L2 can matter

1 Dedicated blockspace Solieum can reserve execution capacity for its own applications instead of competing for the same L1 resources.
2 Predictable fees Applications can use an application-specific fee model rather than exposing users directly to changing Solana priority fees. Solana has both base and priority fees.
3 High-frequency trading A dedicated execution environment can be optimized around exchange/order-book workloads, sequencing, matching and low-latency applications.
4 Application-specific execution Solieum can optimize its runtime, transaction batching, state management and sequencing for a particular workload instead of being a general-purpose L1.
5 Mass-market payments Millions of small transactions can be aggregated before settlement, reducing the amount of individual L1 activity.
6 Custom gas economics Solieum could abstract SOL fees from users and potentially denominate application fees in another asset, subject to the architecture and economic design. Solana itself documents fee abstraction patterns.
7 Exchange infrastructure A Solana-native L2 could provide specialized infrastructure for spot, perpetuals, order books, settlement, collateral and trading applications.
8 Custom sequencing A specialized sequencer can prioritize transactions according to defined application rules—particularly useful for trading and financial applications.
9 Scale without moving the application ecosystem Developers can remain within the Solana/SVM ecosystem while gaining a separate execution environment.
10 Network isolation A workload spike on Solieum can be isolated from unrelated Solana applications rather than every application sharing exactly the same execution environment.
The strongest Solieum-specific argument

For Solieum, I would focus on these four:

Solana L1 → Settlement & security ecosystem

↓

Solieum L2 → Dedicated execution

↓

HFT / DeFi / Payments / Web3

↓

Batch → Compress/Aggregate → Settle back to Solana

That makes the proposition much stronger than simply claiming “Solana needs more TPS.”

Solana is already aggressively scaling its L1: the Solana Foundation has described Firedancer testing above 1M TPS and major planned protocol improvements. Firedancer itself is explicitly designed to improve Solana performance and validator-client diversity.

So your positioning should be:

“Solieum does not exist because Solana is slow. Solieum exists to provide dedicated, programmable, application-specific execution capacity anchored to the Solana ecosystem.”

Particularly strong for your HFT concept

For your previously discussed Solieum + exchange/HFT architecture, the argument becomes:

Solana

global settlement
liquidity ecosystem
assets
interoperability
base-layer security

Solieum

matching engine
high-frequency order processing
specialized sequencing
trading execution
batching
risk engine
margin/collateral processing
dedicated blockspace
predictable application economics

Solana settlement

periodic state/transaction commitments
withdrawals
final settlement
interoperability with Solana ecosystem

This gives Solieum a real architectural reason to exist, rather than being another chain whose only selling point is TPS
