Two free Fabric server tools:

LagLens shows which chunks and mobs are killing your TPS, then lets you click to teleport there. Modrinth

CapLimit caps hoppers and mobs per chunk to stop lag, with an in-game GUI and no YAML editing. Modrinth

Free pet care record checklist and monthly pet cost worksheet

Free pet care record checklist and monthly pet cost worksheet

Record-keeping guidance only. Follow your vet's advice for your pet's health.

What to keep in one place

Name, species and breed, birthday or adoption date, weight, microchip number, vet and emergency vet phone numbers, poison control phone, allergies and conditions, food brand and amount, insurance policy number.

 Vet visits and vaccines

Write the date, reason, vet, cost and follow-up for every visit. For vaccines and preventives (for example rabies, distemper, flea and tick, heartworm, dental cleaning) write the date given and the next due date, so nothing lapses. Ask your vet what your pet needs.

 Medication log

For each medicine write dose, how often, start and end date. Tick it off when given, especially if two people share the job.

 Routine checks

Brush coat, trim nails, clean ears, brush teeth, wash bedding, weigh monthly. A change in weight or appetite is worth noting for your vet.

 What your pet really costs

Add up a year of food, vet, supplies, grooming, boarding and insurance. Divide by 12. Many owners find the real number is higher than they guessed.

6 ways to cut pet costs

Keep up routine care to avoid bigger bills. Compare food prices by cost per day, not per bag. Learn basic grooming. Ask about wellness plans. Set aside a monthly emergency fund ($20 to $50). Compare insurance quotes while your pet is young and healthy.

Free holiday gift budget worksheet and November-December countdown

Free holiday gift budget worksheet and November-December countdown

Suggestions only. Set limits that fit your own budget.

 Set the total first

Decide the total you can spend, then work backward. Subtract what you already saved. Divide what is left by the weeks until December to see your weekly savings target.

 Budget categories people forget

Gifts, food and drinks, decorations, cards and postage, wrapping paper and supplies, travel, parties and events, charity and tips (mail carrier, teachers, babysitter), plus a 10% buffer.

 Gift list rules that work

Write every person, a gift idea and a limit before you shop. Record what you spend the moment you buy. Check the total every week. Stop when the budget is gone, not when the list is long.

 Countdown

Early November: set the total, list everyone you buy for, start saving weekly, order cards and photos.

Late November: shop sales, order gifts early, book travel, plan the menu.

First half of December: mail cards and packages, wrap gifts, decorate, buy food.

Last week: final grocery trip, confirm plans, charge phones and cameras, set aside a quiet hour.

 7 ways to spend less

Draw names for the extended family. Set a per-person limit. Give an experience or a homemade gift. Buy early to spread the cost. Compare prices before you buy. Skip shipping with store pickup. Use cash envelopes for gifts.

How to price 3D prints so you actually make money

Most people who sell 3D prints guess the price. They add filament cost, double it, and hope. Then a failed print or a marketplace fee eats the profit. Here is a simple formula that covers the real costs.

 The formula

cost = (filament + power + machine wear + labor) x (1 + failure allowance)
price = cost x (1 + markup), then add the marketplace fee so it does not shrink your margin

 Each part

Filament: grams used x price per gram. A 1 kg spool at $20 is $0.02 per gram. Your slicer shows grams for every sliced file.

Power: printer watts x print hours / 1000 x your price per kWh. A 150 W printer for 5 hours at $0.15 per kWh is about $0.11. Small, but it adds up across 50 prints.

Machine wear: nozzle, belts, bed sheet and the printer itself wear out. Pick a small hourly figure (for example $0.30 to $1.00 per print hour) so replacements are already paid for.

Labor: your time to remove, clean and pack the print, even if it is 5 minutes. Put a number on it.

Failure allowance: some prints fail. If 1 in 10 fail, add 10 percent to every price so the failures are paid for.

Markup: what you keep on top. Many sellers use 50 to 100 percent.

Marketplace fees: Etsy and similar sites take a percentage of the sale. Divide your price by (1 - fee rate) instead of adding the fee on, otherwise the fee takes its cut from the fee too.

 Doing it for a batch

Slice each file, read grams and print time from the G-code comments, and run the formula per file. Doing this by hand for 20 files is tedious, so I made a small tool for it.

 PrintQuote

PrintQuote reads grams and print time straight from sliced G-code (tested on OrcaSlicer output; PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio and Cura use similar comments but I have not tested them). Drop in many files, set quantities, and export a CSV or a printable quote.

The Python source is free here: https://github.com/BlacksGit/printquote-3d-print-price-calculator

Free chore ideas by age and allowance system for kids

Suggestions only. Pick what fits your family and your child's age.

 Chore ideas by age

Ages 3 to 5: put toys away, feed the pet with help, put dirty clothes in the hamper, set napkins on the table, water plants, make the bed in a simple way.

Ages 6 to 9: set and clear the table, pack the school bag, tidy the bedroom, take out small trash, help fold laundry, walk or feed the pet.

Ages 10 to 13: load and unload the dishwasher, vacuum a room, wash dishes, help cook a meal, mow or rake, do their own laundry.

Ages 14 and up: cook a family meal weekly, clean the bathroom, wash the car, help with the grocery list, yard work, short babysitting of siblings.

 A simple allowance system

A common rule of thumb is about $1 per week per year of age, or a fixed amount tied to a few daily jobs. Split every payment three ways: Save, Spend, Give. Write each payment in a ledger so your child sees the balance grow.

 Tips that help

Do the first few weeks together. Keep the chart where your child sees it. Choose 3 to 5 chores, not 15. Praise effort, not just results. Let your child pick a savings goal so waiting has a point.

Free home maintenance checklist: monthly, seasonal and repair fund

Rough guidelines. Adjust for your climate, home age and appliances.

 Repair fund

A common rule of thumb is to save 1 to 3 percent of your home's value each year for upkeep. Older homes need the higher end. Put it in a separate savings account so a surprise repair is not a credit card bill.

 Monthly

Test smoke and CO alarms. Check under sinks for leaks. Clean the range hood filter. Run water in unused drains. Check the HVAC filter. Check the fire extinguisher gauge. Look around the water heater for leaks.

 Spring

Clean gutters and downspouts. Inspect the roof from the ground. Service the air conditioner. Check outdoor faucets for freeze damage. Seal driveway cracks. Check the deck and fence. Clean the dryer vent. Test the sump pump.

 Summer

Check window and door seals. Pressure wash siding and deck. Check attic ventilation. Trim trees away from the house. Clean refrigerator coils. Check for pests and wasp nests.

 Fall

Clean gutters again. Service the furnace. Reverse ceiling fans. Drain outdoor hoses and shut off outside faucets. Seal gaps around pipes and doors. Check the chimney. Stock snow tools and salt. Flush the water heater.

 Winter

Check for ice dams. Know where your main water shutoff is. Keep pipes warm in cold snaps. Test flashlights or the generator. Check the basement for moisture.
