Upload a photo, sit with it, change your mind — the draft is yours until you decide it’s ready. Publishing is a deliberate gesture. When you develop a photo, it’s done. No going back, no replacing it. If the day ends without a publish, that slot is gone.</p> <p>One photo per day. No more.</p> <p><strong>Personal Rolls</strong></p> <p>Beyond the daily rhythm, users can build up to five personal rolls — curated galleries capped at 24 photos each. The number isn’t arbitrary: it mirrors the 24 exposures of a film roll, back when shooting meant committing to every frame before pressing the shutter.</p> <p>There’s no deadline here. A roll can take a week or a year to fill. It stays in draft until its author decides it’s complete — and then develops it. From that point, the photos and their order are permanent. Each roll gets a unique link, public by default, accessible to anyone without an account. It can be made private whenever its author chooses.</p> <p><strong>What remains</strong></p> <p>Once published, the images don’t move. But the words around them do. A title, a caption, a note — the context of each photo stays editable. Like an old photograph whose story can shift depending on who’s telling it.</p> <p><strong>Why these constraints?</strong></p> <p>Film photography was unforgiving by nature. A roll had 24 exposures. No undo, no delete — just 24 chances to get it right. That limitation shaped how photographers worked: deliberately, carefully, with intention before the shot.</p> <p>Pellicule applies that same logic to digital sharing. Not as nostalgia, but as a design philosophy. A capped gallery means every photo earned its place.
