Hey Dev.to community,

I’m excited to share a project I recently developed called SpecsheetGenie (https://specsheetgenie.com), an online tool designed to automate the generation of product specification sheets directly from any product page URL.

Why I Built SpecsheetGenie
As someone working in ecommerce and product automation, I noticed how time-consuming and error-prone creating and updating spec sheets can be. Whether you’re managing catalogs, compliance docs, or B2B product data, manual processes slow everything down and often lead to inconsistencies — frustrating for product teams and customers alike.

So, I set out to build a simple, intuitive platform that extracts product data from any online product page and transforms it into a clean, customizable spec sheet in seconds. No more copy-pasting or formatting headaches!

What SpecsheetGenie Does
You enter the URL of a product page.

The tool crawls and extracts product specs like dimensions, features, and descriptions.

It auto-generates a professional, standardized spec sheet you can download or share.

Customizable templates help tailor output for different industries or branding.

Works across various product types, from commercial kitchen equipment to electronics.

Tech Stack Highlights
Without going too deep yet, here’s a quick peek at how it’s built:

I used a Make.com workflow with Jina.ai to convert the page to markdown, Gemini 2.5 Flash to convert it to HTML and PDF.co to convert it to a PDF

Frontend UI crafted for simplicity with React and made with lovable.dev

API in development for integration with ecommerce or ERP systems.

Feedback I’m Looking For
I’m really keen on hearing from this amazing dev community about:

UX/UI improvements for smoother, faster data input and validation

Handling edge cases in product page scraping (dynamic content, complex layouts)

Suggestions for API features or integrations you’d find most valuable

Any security or scaling concerns from a technical perspective

Ideas for open sourcing or collaborative development

Feel free to try it out at (https://specsheetgenie.com), and I’d love to hear your thoughts, critiques, or ideas in the comments or via DM.

Thanks so much! Looking forward to iterating and growing with your feedback.

— Cheers, Brad
